I've read that Joan did a pilot or two for a chance at another series, but they weren't pick up. I've also read they still exist. I don't what the names of them are, but I know people who claim you can buy them if you look on the net hard enough.

I forget what the titles were now. Does anybody know what they are and if they are available for purchase from someplace?

I wonder what was so bad that they wouldn't pick up either of Joan's pilots? They were always dissin' Joan. She was the poor man's Lucy  , except she could be just as funny. She would have been perfect for something along the lines of "Laugh-In" but by that time she had already died.

Joan Davis on "Laugh-In"....now THAT would have been hilarious (even if she had just appeared as a guest). I could see Joan doing one of those "Laugh-In" one-liners and then shaking her head, as if to say, "Well, THERE'S a joke that really laid an egg!" She did those kind of takes beautifully!

...to return to TV in a situation comedy format, most notably her unaired 1958NBC pilot "JOAN OF ARKANSAS", concerning "Joan Jones"' exploits at becoming the first "man on the moon" {I've seen it, and I know WHY it didn't sell!}, but by the time she filmed her last attempt for the 1960-'61 season, her health had declined, and she passed away in 1961. He daughter, Beverly Willis, perished in a house fire two years later.
