View Full Version : Why in the world would SBTB the new class be released on DVD? TVFactFan 08-29-2005, 04:06 PM It was 4 different classes-lol I mean it wasn;t like one particular class was on NBC for 4 years like the Original Class. Who the hell wants to see the New Class? vashti1999 08-29-2005, 04:09 PM Me. And TVAdam. And a couple of other people who don't post often. The New Class was a good show. TVFactFan 08-29-2005, 04:23 PM It must do okay, because TBS has it on for three straight hours Friday mornings. Wait one freakin second, TBS airs the New Class? Are you kiddin me? matt41277 08-31-2005, 03:58 AM I want to see it as well. What kind of post is this anyway? I grew up with the New Class. My friends are all nostalgic and happy to see this as well. For crying out loud you want to see Checking In and Grady on DVD. Thats your right. I am not going to ask why the hell would you want to see those shows released. sam56 08-31-2005, 01:20 PM I really don't know why I didn't ever know they made a new class series after the orginal and I bet it wasn't as good as the original in a way but it was around for 4 seasons it must not have been that bad. My point is, it was 4 different classes, if it was just ONE class that start after the original left and carried on for 4 years then that would have been fine. But releasing 4 DVD's with 4 different classes is just silly vashti1999 08-31-2005, 04:05 PM My point is, it was 4 different classes, if it was just ONE class that start after the original left and carried on for 4 years then that would have been fine. The very first New Class cast sucked, so I'm glad changes were made. But releasing 4 DVD's with 4 different classes is just silly If there were different classes/casts, it makes sense to have a dvd for each. They're different seasons, they won't just release a dvd with one class and that's it. I assume you're specifically questioning the show, not the dvds. In the case of the show, it was done probably to keep viewers interested, by changing some of the cast members each year. Since it wasn't the originals: Zack, Kelly, Slater etc., they probably felt that viewers wouldn't be that attached to the new cast members anyway, so bringing in different characters every year was a way to try and keep it fresh as opposed to getting used to the same kids year after year. That was always a dumb idea to start a new class once the originals went to college. Adamantium 08-31-2005, 04:24 PM I figure that when Image release "The College Years", maybe it was a success with sales. So they wanted to stay in the "SBTB" franchise. "The New Class" was next, so they went with it. I doubt it's a big seller, but I really don't care. As long as they release the whole show, I don't care if Vashti, me and only a few others buy the DVDs. As for the cast changes, it sucked once you got to like a cast and then they were gone. Yet, when you think about it, it's called "The New Class". Every season had a new class. So the title fit the entire series. ;) I had always wanted to have every episode on tape but it seemed impossible. I was shocked when I first heard about "The New Class" coming to DVD. And then I was sure the first season sales would bomb and Image would abandon the series. Thankfully, that wasn't the case. Image Rules! vashti1999 08-31-2005, 08:38 PM I had always wanted to have every episode on tape but it seemed impossible. I was shocked when I first heard about "The New Class" coming to DVD. And then I was sure the first season sales would bomb and Image would abandon the series. Thankfully, that wasn't the case. Image Rules! I was thinking the same thing earlier today. That I was a big fan of the show when it aired and got up every Saturday morning to watch it. I had a few episodes on tape and was hoping it might come out on dvd one day. And now, by the end of the year the entire series will be available on dvd. I don't think Image even cared about sales, they just made up their minds to put out all of the seasons and not waste any time, so I love Image for that. Sophia's Wrinkles 09-01-2005, 04:25 AM I like it as it's own series, trying to compare it to the oringal is a waste of time for me. barb1686 09-01-2005, 01:11 PM Wait one freakin second, TBS airs the New Class? Are you kiddin me? No...The College Years is shown on Fridays. The last time I saw The New Class was in reruns on USA like 6-7 years ago. ILuvZackMorris 09-10-2005, 12:42 PM because not everyone got to watch the show (specifically the 4th season for me) when it aired. My local NBC station (which is out of Omaha, not my own city) decided "we're not showing TNBC this year, we'll show a three hour local morning show" or "we'll just show news all morning" when it was time for the at least the 4th season, possibly the 3rd as well. And when I stayed with my sister at one time over a weekend, she didn't have an NBC station at her apartment. So, I only got to watch the show when it was on USA network in reruns. So, for me, this is really nice. The 4th season is the only dvd I purchased - and that's the one I had to catch in reruns on USA network. While I did record some of the reruns, there were a few episodes that I missed and a few I can't find that I thought I recorded. |
