No, I have never seen a ghost but my son in law swears that he was visited in their home a couple of times. They have moved since. My brother's house where he lives with his wife has had some eerie things happen to them. Strange phenomena in which things have mysteriiously moved in their home and lights turning off and on mysteriously. So who knows?

they usually take place in my room. i've had my desk chair wobble around out of nowhere, heard someone going through all the magazines and **** on my shelf, etc. ever since my mom died three years ago i've been feeling presences all the time but it's totally everyday to me, i just think oh hi mom and continue what i'm doing. the day after my friend died (about exactly 24 hours in fact) last may i was watching american idol and i suddenly i felt a presence that was so immense and distracting i started to get scared, and seconds later something fell off of my shelf and i RAN out of the room breathing heavily. i went back in a few moments later and i could feel it again but it wasn't as strong. god i'm nothing but used to feeling presences but that one just scared the f-ck out of me. eh, chances are my friend was just having fun scaring people, it'd be absolutely typical of her.

Yep, I believe in them and have seen them! On several occasions as a teenager, I recall being woken up by laughter and the feeling of someone standing next to my bed. When I would open my eyes, I would see a blueish blur that resembled a young boy, but whenever I turned on the light, it was gone.

Very weird but true...Ghost stories always fascinate me :)

I've never experienced a visit from a ghost. But I love true stories about them; real first-hand, believe it or not stories.

I find it very interesting. I'm also fascinated by stories of the past, antiques, old things. The idea of ghosts kinda links our world with the world of the past.

I am a believer.

I personally have not ever experienced seeing a ghost/spirit, but I do believe in them.

Many of my family members see them all of the time as well as some of my family members at one time did not believe in them until they had their own experience.

My father was a staunch non believer. When he was about to go into the hospital for back surgery, his sister who had been dead for about 5 years, came into his bedroom while he sat on the side of the bed and told him that he would be alright. The actual ocassion that made him a believer was when our uncle died. Our uncle had a collection of trains that we moved to our home. One night when my father was home alone, our uncle appeared in the doorway to the bedroom. When we got home that night, my father told us to get those trains out of the house because Uncle Frank stood in the doorway of the bedroom that night. From that moment on, my father was a believer.

One of my relatives had to have the stairs rebuilt in their home because of ghosts running up and down the stairs constantly.

So many encounters have been passed on to us over the years, but thankfully I have not yet been a recipient of a visitation.

We live in a world that is made of spirit and principalities. We are soul and spirit simply covered in flesh. So why would ghosts/spirits not exists. The flesh make us mortal, but in death we become immortal. The flesh no longer exists but the soul and spirit live on.

About a month ago, I was visiting a friend who lives on the edge of a huge historical cemetery. We were talking and listening to Coldplay on the stereo, and I glanced over at the stereo and noticed the digital volume display slowly climb from 11 to 13. I calmly looked over at my friends to see if they had the remote. I seen that they didn't and that they were still in mid-conversation. So I asked who just turned up the stereo?, The moment I asked that, the stereo cranked full blast!, Needless to say it took much persuasion to get me to stay! Other incidents that happen there is the front door locks itself, chain lock even, and all night long it sounds like someone is walking on the ceiling, I really hate his apartment :(

That really doesn't make sense. You mean if a child dies young, he or she only gets those 5 or whatever years of life on earth, yet someone else can live to 80 or 90?
The soul lives on in the afterlife... you'll see. And when we're both up there, you will know how it all makes sense.

There is nothing wrong with that thinking, I started out with that thought. But, when you do see things that you KNOW you see ( especially seeing them with at least 30 other people ) it shakes your belief system to the core. I have seen this that frightened me soo bad that i don't like to talk about them. I concider myself sane and have no interest in converting someone into believe in them, but I have to say there is definately something out there that made me a believer.

I was pointing out things like every single person who has had an NDE (near-death experience) has never said that they and their souls went just "into the ground" when they died. Every single person who has had a NDE has said that their is an afterlife and that is our real home.

But, as you said, dawsongirl will find that out when the time comes.

*sigh* Okay, here's my belief. A person's soul and spirit lives because it lives in the hearts of people who knew the deceased. Once enough time passes and no one living remembers a person anymore (I'm refering to the non-famous/infamous here), then there's no one left to carry on the spirit and there it ends.

If you don't agree with that, I don't care. Think whatever you want. But geez...let me have my own opinion here.

With all due respect, that is the *strangest* "explanation" of death I've ever read (and I've read a lot).
Only a famous person's soul/spirit lives? That would be very unfair. Someone no one has heard of whose medical discovery ends up saving thousands of lives will not be remembered once his family is deceased, but a baseball player who can hit little white balls and run around plates will be remembered forever? I don't think so.

I think everyone can have their own opinion about death or afterlife(that's how I like to call it).

I beleive that souls live on and goes to heaven. They become ghosts when they refuse to go on the other side(into the light).I never saw a ghost and I'm glad because ghosts stories give me chills in my back.I also beleive in angels. They help us every day of our life.

Ghosts :D

A professor at Texas A &M University was giving a
lecture
of the
supernatural. To get a feel for his audience, he
asks, "How
many people
here believe in ghosts?"

About 90 students raise their hands.

"Well, that's a good start. Out of those of you
who believe
in ghosts,
do any of you think you have seen a ghost?"

About 40 students raise their hands.

"That's really good. I'm really glad you take
this
seriously. Has anyone
here ever talked to a ghost?"

About 15 students raise their hand.

"Has anyone here ever touched a ghost?"

3 students raise their hands.

"That's fantastic Now let me ask you one question
further...Have any of
you ever made love to a ghost?"

Way in the back, Bubba raises his hand. The
professor takes
off his
glasses, and says "Son, all the years I've been
giving this
lecture,
no one has ever claimed to have made love to a
ghost.
You've got to come
up here and tell us about your experience."

The big redneck student replied with a nod and a
grin, and
began to
make his way up to the podium.

When he reached the front of the room, the
professor asks,
"So,
Bubba, tell us what it's like to have sex with a
ghost?"

Bubba replied, "Shiiiit! ...From way back thar I thought
you said
"Goats"

I've never seen a ghost, but i've felt its presence. That's not the weird part, however.

On Friday September 25, 1998, in the afternoon, I was sitting in my living room chair and I felt the upper left corner move like a small animal had gotten into the bottom and was moving around in there, but I checked it later and there was no hole and other evidence. Several days later, a cousin of mine who lived in Cleveland died.

My mother died of cancer in November 199, and in December 2000 my aunt in Cleveland, who was my mom's older sister, was in the hopsital. My brother and I visited her, and she told us that she felt someone sitting at the foot of the hospital bed! Since 2000, I've felt my bed move up and down every few months apart, like some person or my cat was on the bed, but I've never seen anyone there, including my cat who's alive.

In October 2004, I felt that presence when the righ side of my bed had a noticeable "thump" on it like someone had fallen on it, or on a floor. Two days later, my aunt in Cleveland died. My cousin and his wife went someplace (she was living with them then), and when they came home they found her on the floor. Her death really broke my heart (we were pretty close). :(

I remember when my grandma was in Hospice with terminal cancer, and I was out with some friends and we drove past the hospice. This was about midnight, for some reasaon I had this overwhelming urge to stop and check on her since I knew no one in my family would be there at that time of night. I wewnt to the desk and asked the nurse for an update, and she told me she wouldn't make it through the night. I told her I wanted to stay the night with her because I didn't want her to be alone. I called a few relatives and told them what the nurses had told me, and they couldn't make it at that particular time being that it was that late, and they were optimistic that she would still be there when they arrived the next morning. I was kind of upset by that by the way....anyways.....the nurse made me a cot in the corner of the room and gave me a few magazines to kill time. About 5 am she had that death rattle in her chest ( scariest sound I ever heard ). by 6 am she had passed, but at the moment she passed I felt this powerful presence in the room. It was a very consuming presence. After about a few seconds after she took her last breath, the feeling was gone. The nurse saw me looking around the room and asked " you felt that didn't you?" and I asked her what it was? She said she didn't know but it happens almost everytime. I don't know if it was her spirit leaving, if it was death or whatever, I just know it was there and they confirmed it. It's still vivid in my head. On some level, I'm glad I got to experience it, it deffinately opened another door to ponder!

Occasionaly, random things in the house would go missing and we just say "put them back" and the return in some obvious place. A few times things got thrown at my sister in her room too (like pencils, small pebbles, etc). I never saw the ghost until I was about 12. I was soo f'in scared, I turned all the lights in the house on

Then another night I was watching TV and looked and saw a little girl standing behind the computer chair. i figured my mind was playing tricks on me but when I told my mom she said that when my sister was like 3 she [my sister] said something about seeing a little girl in the same spot. A few weeks ago early saturday morning, I webt to bed and a few minutes later the "visitor" was on my bed, and it felt like my cat was doing it --but she wasn't, because I never let her in my room after I go to bed. The following tuesday morning I read the obits i the local paper, and one was for a man with my last name* who lived in my part of town.

Last tuesday night, I was laying on my living room couch, watching TV, and at 11:18+ p.m. ET I heard the vertical blinds on the picture window move, and I looked over and saw them move. It wasn't the fan that was responsible, and my cat (Polly's her name) looked over and got this wide-eyed looked of super-curiosity and fear on her face! Spoooky!!

*: my brother's my only living relative who lives here in Toledo.
