What is your all-time favorite episode of Night Court and why?

Definately without a doubt, the one when the building was on fire and everyone was trapped in the morgue. Dan was watching the election returns, the poker game with Roz using the corpse's hand to hold her cards, and of course the big kiss with Harry and Christine. That is SO my favorite ep of all!

I have to say i think the funniest episodes were when they got trapped in the building because of the snow on christmas eve, when christine got robbed, when christine became a juge, and when they had to do all those cases by midnight. NightCourt is a classic hope they keep showing the reruns!

The safe episode would be my favorite. As I have already mentioned in a previous post on this mb.

I'm afraid that I don't remember much of it. Having only seen it once. But I always loved the Magician side of Harry.

I liked the "beat the clock" episodes, in which they had to finish enough cases before midnight. I believe there were two such episodes. One involved the release of all the prisoners if they didn't try a certain number of cases before midnight, and one involved the forclosure of an orphanage. I love the fact that reruns are now back, thanks to A&E!

There were 3 eps of beat the clock I believe....the release of prisoners, the save the orphanage, and the guy who wanted to marry his girlfriend but the mother didn't like him and he had to be processed by midnight because the wedding cruise left then. I don't think there were any more........

Now that you mention it, I certainly remember all three. They're all pretty interchangeable, but I guess the "Releasing the Prisoners" one would be the best of the three, IMO. Which of the three was Dan concerned about the weight of the defendents? I think I just caught the end of that particular episode, and didn't catch the reason why Dan was so upset that the thinner brother of the last defendent wanted to take the blame for stealing the car radio.

I cannot be sure, I am thinking the orphanage episode? Only because there was a bet going on with the rich Texan.....

But for some nagging reason I am thinking that the weight one wasn't a beat the clock episode. I recall a bet being made among the DA's to see who had the highest weight for their prosecutions. I seem to remember sumo wrestlers and Dan and Roz get stuck in the elevator with them. Now I may be wrong and getting stuff backwards.....

Can anyone ease my confusion? I won't be able to sleep until someone does.....lol

I think the episode that I was referring to had to do with the rich Texan, becuase they failed to reach the deadline, and then Harry had to arm wrestle the rich Texan. I'm almost positive that the sumo wrestlers were involved in another episode all together, simply because there wouldn't have been enough time for Dan to get stuck in an elevator AND have a "beat the clock" theme in the same episode. I'm having trouble rememebering the specifics of the "sumo wrestler" episode as well, however. I tried looking through an episode guide, but they are just too broad to get any specifics about any episode.

"The Blizzard" is my favorite episode because it was funny when Dan was stuck in an elevator.

I also like the one where Bull found a baby.

The elevator one dealt with Roz and Dan being asked by Harry to get the Sumos some food. One responded "Raw fish, (gag)" to Harry's suggestion of sushi. He then says "Whoppa!" to which Harry responds "Have it your way," which was Burger King's slogan at the time. So Dan and Roz take them into the elevator to get them out of the building, but an earthquake hits and stalls it. Dan goes thru a bad bout of claustrophobia, but Roz eases him along the way.

As far as favorite episodes, I have to go with where Harry's old college friend shows up and tries to have an affair with him. He thinks her husband's shown up and goes out on his ledge, where his underwear gets caught on a nail and ripped off. Later Dan ends up on the ledge in his underwear, looks down at Harry's privates and says the shows funniest line ever: "So, what's up?"

The shows where they have to go very fast, anything with Mel Torme, and "Dan's Parents."

Good answers!
