We just got digital cable and it came with a universal remote. Everything is fine except I can't get my dvd/vcr to come on. I tried the codes and checked that everything is connected but nothing. When I have the tv on and then turn the vcr on with it's own remote I just get static. Any suggestions?

does your TV have multiple inputs? if it does, check to see which input the vcr is plugged into, then use your TV remote to change it to the right video source (usually it'll have like tv, video1, video2, etc)

if it goes through the cable box, there should be a video a/b switch on THAT remote.

if you are STILL having problems, call your cable company and tell them they installed it wrong :cuss:

I have a universal remote that I got a few years ago, but I threw out my code sheets so now it wont work anymore. Now I gotta buy another one. :cuss:
