At Steve's prom one of the boys said, "Ever since Steve ran into Rachel the other day, that's all he's been talking about".

That doesn't make sense. They go to the same school together! They probably have a class together, or, even if not, they must see each other. They tried to make it sound as if Steve and Rachel hadn't seen each other in a year.

Yes it does just think about it.

How does it make sense? They WOULD see each other at school. They made it sound like Steve and Rachel hadn't seen each other in two years and just had a big reunion.

It's very possible they may have had different classes and hadn't seen each other much since they broke up. There's a lot of people I went to school with that I would see every day one year, and the next year very rarely see them. Usually that happens when you go to a big school and your'e not in any of the same classes as somebody and your classes all take place in different parts of the school. JMO
