Today, ME-TV aired another Complete episdoe of Family Ties. When I saw the full version of the opening credits, I decided to time the commercials. They had a total of about 5:50 of commercials during the entire 1/2 hour. I'm pretty sure those were the original avails when it aired in primetime.
Also, during the middle of the show break, they show the still picture of the "Family Ties" logo next to the photo seen during the opening credits.

I decided to call ME-TV, but the receptionist wouldn't put me through to programming. She insisted that they don't edit shows, since they have to follow the clock. She said they just run the tapes as they get them. I don't think she has a clue as to what syndication is. When I tried to explain that shows were edited for syndication, she told me "the whole story is there, we don't cut anything." I may try again, as I can't quite figure this out. Perhaps I 'll drive down there, since I only live a few miles away.

In the meantime, I guess I'll enjoy the original versions. I'll be curious to see what happens when the show the last episode.
