I'm sorry, but did anyone else almost fall asleep watching this documentary? I mean, the penguins were cute and all, but could it have been ANY longer??

Just ranting. :D

I haven't seen it yet, but I want to. It's only about 84 minutes though. These penguins spend months trekking Antarctica and you can't give them 84 minutes of your life? :) The male penguins protect the eggs for TWO months and eat nothing, while the mothers go out to eat.

For some reason, it seemed MUCH longer than that, though. I think it's because some of the things said were redundant, or maybe it was because I was sitting in the 4th row (no other seats available, LOL. ). Definitely not worth $10.75, I can say that much. How much are the tickets over there? Just wondering.

It is interesting how it's the male who protects the egg initially, though (rather than the female). It's kind of sad how they go through all that trouble just to keep their child (and themselves) alive... and some of them don't even make it. :(

My mom really wants to see it, but I think I'll wait until it comes out on DVD! Penguins are cute, but I don't know if I could sit in the movie theatre that long JUST watching a bunch of penguins!

btw, I love your sn! very clever! It doesn't look like I've seen you post a lot here, but according to you post count you have like almost 10,000 posts. I assume you changed your sn from something else recently?

You can always get the bootleg version, too, LOL. :o (You didn't hear that from ME, tho. :p)

And thanks! :) I normally don't post on the Movies Board, but I DO post on Chit Chat a lot. And yes, I did change my SN. It used to be Jo's the bomb, then: Transit Whiz; then: Quencherita, LOL. :o

I watched March Of The Penguins tonight, and I really enjoyed it. Those penguins have quite the adventure bringing a new baby to life. Excellent camera work, gorgeous scenery, nice music and terrific narration by Morgan Freeman.

It's heartwarming, a little funny and sad at times. I enjoyed it. I learned about something I never knew before.

Us men always get the short straw when it comes to family dynamics.
