Who's your favorite character on NewsRadio and why????

God no. Best and Funniest Character is undoubtibly "Jimmy James" or as others may know him, "UncaJimmay"(Uncle Jimmy)

Jimmy James: He's hysterical and it's funny to watch him get involved in some crazy stunts. I loved it when he got everyone believing that he was gonna go around the world in the hot air balloon and all the time he was in a studio filming the whole thing.

Definitely Beth, she is so crazy! I love it when they have that webcam in the breakroom, and she is acting out that whole soap opera.

Jimmy James. Or is it D. B. Cooper? (or as Matthew would say "Doobie Keebler") And don't forget he was "Deep Throat"(Mentioned in a couple of episodes.)

Jimmy James and Dave. Dave for always being the straight man and just WALKING into every set up, and losing his cool so often. Watching him get into fits of hysterics still tickles me.

Jimmy James...needs no explination. I'll just say one thing-the gifts. Caps, cars, and the radio shows...talk about eccentric.

Side note: Personally (living in NYC as I do) I would have preferred the radio shows over a car anyway...where am I gonna drive? I'd rather have the shows keep me company on the bus and subway rather than deal with traffic and having to pay attention. But that's just me.

Dave is my most favorite, the reason I began to watch the show... CUTE!

Matthew... a fellow cat lover. I too need to 'shake off the sillyness' every once in awhile and relax with a good game of computer solitare. (and I might be curious enough to put my tonge on the tracks of a model train to see what would happen!)

Beth... because she dresses like 'a trapeeze artist' and is always up for a good game of goofyball at work.

Joe... hubba hubba. Was I the only one that was turned on when he wrestled with his brothers???

Bill... or 'Evil-lynn', to watch him eat an Oreo! He's SMOOTH!!!

Lisa... almost as neurotic as me. And has good taste in men... ha ha!

Jimmy... anybody who could think up, 'The Shaft' is pretty damn funny!!!

I never did 'connect' with the character of Catherine... did anyone else?

Lisa by far, one because she's Maura Tierney, and she's hilarious!

Also, Dave and Bill, they are hilarious together, like in the episode where Katherine leaves, when Bill is eating cereal at his desk, and Dave is getting annoyed, and then later in the show when Jimmy is asking Dave to recount the stuff that happened before the staff meeting, and it shows this picture of Bill eating his cereal close-up, and then all through out Dave explaining, Bill is doing little things that are sorta annoying, and they keep closing up on it! I think that is funny...

Matthew and Beth are also really REALLY funny together, and Joe and Katherine (or is it Catherine) are really really funny together too!

and Mr. James is just hilarious by himself! Like in this one episode, he's like talking to Dave and everyone, and then he's like, "Of course, if this falls through, I'm on a river boat in Burma". He's just really funny!

i never saw any ads for it, cause i live in canada. but i was looking at this maura tierney website, and it said movies she was in, and then i saw Scotland, PA. then i found out it was only sold in the US, so i went to the states and bought it! its really good! :thumbsup:

Beth, hands down. I was captivated from the moment I first set eyes on her. She is just so cute and perfect! Really, what's not to love about her?

Bill is my favorite NewsRadio character. He's also one of my top 10 all-time favorite TV characters.

I thought all the characters were great and each added something different to the show.

Bill is like my second favorite! I love Phil Hartman :)

It wouldn't be NewsRadio without Joe.

Further reasoning for my choice:

I like Beth because she's so cute and funny and caring. She's the kind of person that every woman should strive to emulate. The world would be a better place if there were more Beths in it.

Beth. Absolutely Beth. But I love all of the characters with varying degrees of adoration. They're almost like a second family, and I always enjoy their company no matter who is on screen. :)

9. Lisa-she would've tied for 2nd place with Dave because I liked it when they're together. They had really great chemistry. But in the 5th season when she had that thing with Johnny Johnson(marriage or whatever atrocity you want to call it), that was pure stupid or the worst idea ever. The writers or whoever was in charge in Season 5 ruined her big time.

My favorite characters are:[in this order

Catherine [because I just loove Khandi to death]
Bill [because Phil is just too funny although he and Catherine when they are together even though they dislike each other are a laugh riot literally]
Joe [because I love how he likes Catherine in the romantic way, but won't say anything to her and does stupid things to try and get her to notice and yet she's doing that same thing yet he doesn't realize it which is so funny]
Jimmy [so funny enough said]

Bill, the guy is a self-involved blowhard, but Phil just made him so likeable despite that.

Joe is awesome too. I love how everything was a conspiracy with him.

Jimmy is the 'rich and eccentric' standard. He's so hilariously weird.

I pretty much love them all though except Max. I'm actually a fan of Jon Lovitz, but I don't feel the Max character fit into the show well.

Nearly a dart board choice, depending on who was on at the moment. I guess I'll go with the great boss Dave: "Couldn't you all just pretend to do something when I walk past?"


That's pretty much MY answer, too. I've had so many favorite characters on this show, it's hard to pick one indefinitely. But Dave is the one I'm going to say as well.

I would have to say my favorite Newsradio character was Dave and to put it simple he was such a cutie pie and always had a great personality and a cool sense of humor. If I had a boyfriend I would choose a boyfriend like Dave because of his sense of humor and good heart. I also had a crush on Matthew because he was so funny and had a lot of fun in his personality. I also liked Bill because his personality was so nice but serious and even though he's no longer alive Phil Hartman is still my crush because I liked his funny side on Newsradio
