I've been trying for years to find out the name of the actor who played Mr. Schwump. Anybody have the answer???

I don't think you're going to get an answer to that question. It has been asked dozens of times by many folks and it seems that no one knows who played Schwump. (According to scripts, his name was Schwamp. The "U" is funnier.)
Regulars and first timers over at Miss Crump's bring it up now and then. A year or two back there was talk of putting an ad in a hollywood newspaper or trade publication hoping someone who knew the answer might see it and respond. As far as I know that was never done.
It's been close to forty years since the show went out of production so many who knew the answer are long gone and most of the others have forgotten.

If a TV and film researcher could find some kind of actors guild records for who worked on those episodes and got paid etc. I'm sure we could find out. But, it would take someone working on a book or a project like that to do the research.

According to a poster on another site, Schwump/Schwamp appeared in the following episodes and spoke in none of them:

141 Otis Sues the County
175 Otis the Artist
203 Only A Rose
210 Floyd's Barbershop
240 Barney Hosts A Summit Meeting
247 Sam for Town Council

Yep. That'uz my list. I'm still makin' some phone calls to the Screen Actors Guild and places to see if I can find anything out about the actor. If nothin' else, I can find out who would have records, if they exist.
