Meant to Be
*Scene picks up at the end of Full Moon as Nate looks at CD
resting her very tierd head on his shoulder.*
**Nate just sits there in such bliss watching CD sleep. Wow he
thinks to himself. She is so beautiful. He has wanted to be with
this woman since the very first moment he layed eyes on her. She
is stunningly beautiful on the outside, but even more gorgeous and
amazing on the inside. He knows she has been through so much in
her life. With men usually. She hasn't said alot to him about it,
but he can sense it when she pulls away from his subtle advances.
And he is certain she feels the same way for him, as he does for
her. And now as she sleeps, he runs through his head what it would
feel like to be dating her. Or to have her be his girlfriend. And
as he thinks about that, his heart skips a beat and he smiles a
faint smile as he sits there. But he thinks it's so far from even
happening, that his smile quickly fades. Just then, CD's head
slips a little down on his shoulder. Nate isn't sure weather to
wake her, or let her sleep. But he sure can't sit in Anchorside
with her all night. So after he finishes his drink, he figures
she's been awake 36 hours, and is probably out cold. So ever so
carefully, he moves his right arm around her back, and his left
arm under her legs and slowly lifts her off the stool at the bar.
CD barely stirs, and Nate worries that he won't be able to carry
her. Not because of her weight, he's very strong and CD wasn't all
that heavy. Tall, but not heavy. But the reason he worried he
couldn't carry her, is because the feeling of holding her, just
made him go weak in the knees. GOD, how he loved this woman. He
didn't think anyone could EVER know how much, not even CD. He
manages to keep his composure as he carries her to the door,
trying to open it with his left hand careful not to let CD slip.
Nate opens it after not much effort, and wonders how he'll open
the car door and get her in, but somehow he manages. He lays her
down in the backseat of the Crown Victoria. The car that they both
share on a daily basis. And as Nate stands up after putting CD in
a comfortable position, he catches a whiff of the perfume that he
was teasing her about earlier in the day. He knew it was Shalimar
even if she was getting aggrivated by his razzing. Then ever so
quietly, Nate climbs into the drivers seat, and starts the
ignition. On one hand, he's not worried he'll wake her because
she's been awake so long. And on the other hand, he's not sure how
heavy of a sleeper she is. It's not like he's ever slept with her
or anything to know. With all kinds of thoughts running through
his head, he slowly pulls away from Anchorside and heads to his
house. Not knowing what else to do. Going to CD's house would be
pointless. He doesn't have her keys and going through her purse
wouldn't be gentleman like. As he arrives at his house, he takes
CD out of the car as carefully as he put her in. And he can't help
but chuckle at the fact that she is snoring. He wonders how ANYONE
can snore when they're being moved around so much, but apparently
CD can. As he gets her to his front door, and opens it he thinks
to himself now he must be an expert at opening doors with 145
pounds in his arms! Once inside his house, he lays CD down on his
couch, glad that this is the last time that he'll have to
interrupt her sleep even though it didn't seem like she was
disturbed. Then after Nate locks his door, he grabs a blanket from
his bedroom, and lays it over CD. He smiles a wide smile as he
watches her sleep. He could watch her forever. After about 5
minutes of just staring at her, he gets an idea. He gathers some
wood from the corner of his living room and puts it in the
fireplace, and throws in a match. The fire causes a little light
to shine on CD's face. Nate went and got a second blanket from his
hall closet, and sat in the chair closest to CD. As he cuddles up
with the blanket, he once again stares at her. He knows is very
sweet, caring, and polite with her, but he is a man after all and
he does have testosterone, and he really can't help but wonder
what it must be like to make love to CD. It would have sooooo much
more meaning then it would if it was anyone else. It would be
sexual, sensual, intimate and amazing. Though Nate never told
anyone, he prefers making love to sex. Sex is just two horny
people going at it like rabbits. He always thought that. But
making love involves feelings, not just sex organs. And all he's
done in his life is have sex, he never once found anyone that he
wanted to make love to. Until CD. The longer Nate sits there, the
more tierd he gets. He too, has been awake for 36 hours, but was
trying to act all tough in front of CD, but he too was VERY tierd.
And as much as he'd like to sleep with the woman of his dreams
right next to him, he fought as much as he could because he didn't
want CD to freak out when she woke up not wondering where she was.
But he couldn't stay awake any longer, and he figured if she woke
up before him she would see him and know she was at his place. And
he didn't think her reaction would be all that bad, knowing she
was with him. And so, he finally falls asleep. Next to the person
who has just made him the happiest he's ever been.**
**************************************************************
*Meanwhile, at Jinny's house, her and Teddy are just going to
sleep after they both made up for all the missed time since Teddy
walked away from Jinny. With Teddy moving from his right side to
his back to sleep, Jinny does the same. And as Teddy moves his
right arm behind Jinny's head, she puts her right hand on his
chest, to feel his heartbeat.*
Teddy: So Jinny.
Jinny: Yeah?
Teddy: I was just wondering. Do you regret us sleeping together
now or what?
Jinny: Regret it?
Teddy: Well yeah. I mean, in the Division lobby you were saying
how you just wanted to shake hands and leave it at that.
Jinny: Well, Teddy, ya know, what else was I suppose to say? After
everything you said at Anchorside about how you didn't want us to
be friends what was I suppose to think? I really didn't think you
wanted me to talk to you anymore, nevermind you wanting to sleep
with me.
Teddy: I know Jin. I'm really sorry about that. But if you only
knew what it did to me inside when I saw you with that guy. I
couldn't help my reaction. But after time had passed, I came to
forgive you and couldn't take not being with you. So I knew I had
to make things right somehow.
Jinny: Ok. And I am so sorry I did that, and that you had to see
it. I really was drunk baby, I swear. I didn't even remember doing
that once I sobbered up. But I am on the straight and narrow now,
and have no intention of going back to the way I was. If for any
reason I do, I need you to make sure no matter what you leave me
...permanently. Because if I go back to drinking, I don't want you
to spend the rest of your life waiting for me to get my act
together. I want you to be happy no matter what. So promise me if
I drink again, that you'll leave me.
Teddy: Jin, just hearing you say that tears me apart. I'm not who
I was before. Someone who leaves the first second things get
difficult. I'm in this for the long haul Jin. So no. I can't and
won't promise you that.
Jinny: Teddy, I love you. she slowly says as a tear escapes her
left eye.
Teddy: I love you too, baby girl. With all my heart. And you would
have to do something really extreme to ever get me to leave you
again.
Jinny: Extreme like gain 50 pounds? she asks slyly.
Teddy: I'm serious Jinny. he says laughing slightly I was nothing
when I wasn't with you. There were times I didn't think I'd make
it to the next day, with all the heartache I had in me.
Jinny: Well, you know what. It was killing me too, not being with
you. But hopefully from this moment on that will all change.
*And with that Teddy wraps both his arms around Jinny and they
fall asleep cuddling, the way they used to before they broke up.*
********************************************
*With daybreak approaching, CD and Nate are still fast asleep next
to each other. Within the next hour at some point Nate woke up
just long enough to stretch in the chair that he was sleeping in
and started to go back to sleep, until he remembered what the
situation was and that CD was sleeping on his couch. He couldn't
take having her lay there and not be able to touch her or love her
like he had wanted to do since day one. And so, with his eyes
burning from still being tired he got off the chair and kneeled
down on the floor in front of CD. Hoping this wouldn't wake her,
he just had to do this while he still had the courage. He had to
kiss her. Even if she never knows he did. Even if this was all he
got to do with her. So now his heart was in his throat and he
prayed that if CD woke up when he did this she wouldn't mind. But
he just had to take the risk. While she layed on her left side in
the same position Nate had put her in, he leans in and ever so
softly and sweetly places his lips on CD's letting the electricity
run through every single inch of him. And after about 5 seconds he
pulls away.*
Nate: I love you Candace, and I always will.
*And with that, he goes back to his chair, and with his right hand
he plays with her golden locks on her forehead, until he once
again fell asleep. At about noon time, Nate was the first one to
wake up. Which really made him happy because he wanted to be awake
when CD woke up. He wanted to see her reaction. And after he was
awake for a bit and managed to tear himself away from staring at
sleeping CD, he decided to go get a bowl of cereal and a cup of
coffee. Once he had settled down in his chair, CD sat up at first
having no idea she was at Nate's, until she opened her eyes more
and looked around and saw Nate right by her side.*
Nate: Well Good Morning, bright eyes!
CD: Ok Nate. Where am I, and why am I here? she asks with a wierd
tone to her voice.
Nate: Well, you're at my house. he says matter of factly as he
took a bite of his cereal, trying hard not to let CD see that her
presence made his hands shake.
CD: OK. Question number one answered. Question number two. Why?
Nate: Ok. What's the last thing you remember?
CD: Having a midnight supper with you at Anchorside.
Nate: OK. Well you fell asleep, dear.
CD: Oh my God, are you serious?
Nate: Yup.
CD: I can't believe that! I was so tierd, I guess I couldn't stay
awake a minute longer.
Nate: Yeah I guess not.
CD: Well, I still don't know how I got here.
Nate felt his throat get dry as he tries to figure out how to tell
CD how she got in his apartment.
Nate: Well, you were sleeping, with your head on my shoulder might
I add, and I didn't want to wake you so I carried you to our car
and drove to my house. I would have gone to yours, but I didn't
wanna go looking for your keys in your purse, so I just took you
to my place, and now you're here.
CD: Oh wow. Ok. And I slept through all of that?
Nate: That and then some. You know you snore right?
CD: I do NOT!!
Nate: Oh yes you do, it was funny.
CD blushes some.
CD: Oh and I'm sorry.
Nate: For what?
CD: Sleeping on you.
Nate: Oh don't apologize, I didn't mind really. he says as his
voice cracks.
CD: Well anyway, I really appreciate what you did for me. You went
above and beyond the call of duty.
Nate: All in a days work. he says smiling at CD. She smiles back.
CD: Well, I've taken up enough of your time, so if you wouldn't
mind giving me a ride home I'll be out of your hair.
Nate: Ummm sure I could give you a ride, but do you really have to
leave so soon?
CD: Umm no I guess not, I just didn't want to overstay my welcome.
Nate: CD. That's not possible.
CD: Well thanks, Nate. she says smiling at him.
Nate: Oh umm would you like something for breakfast? I can fix
you anything.
CD: Oh no thank you. That's fine. I can't eat when I first wake
up. But...is that coffee you have?
Nate: Yeah I just made a fresh pot. I'll get you a cup.
CD: Thanks alot.
Nate: No problem.
When Nate returns from the kitchen, he sits beside CD on the
couch, instead of on the chair again. CD gives him a sideways look
wondering why he was sitting by her now.
Nate: Umm CD I need to talk to you.
CD: OK. What's up? she asks before she takes a big gulp of her
coffee.
Nate: After last night, I don't think I can keep this to myself
anymore.
CD: What do you mean Nate?
Nate takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly.
Nate: What I mean is, I'm really glad you're my partner.
He wanted to kick himself in the ass for chickening out.
CD: Ok. Well, you know what I'm really glad you're my partner too.
Besides, who else would carry me and all and go out of there way
like that.
Nate: Yeah.
Nate regresses as he gets mad at himself for not telling her how
he felt.
CD: But ya know, I get the feeling that's not what you wanted to
tell me.
*Nate looking at CD now, doesn't know what to say next. So, he
does what he feels, and what comes natural to him, and scoots
really close to CD wrapping his arm around her shoulders. CD makes
herself more comfortable and rests her head on his chest. Nate is
sure CD can hear his heart beating right through him. After about
5 minutes of cuddling, Nate puts his hand under CD's chin lifting
it up to him, looks her in the eyes, and says what he didn't have
the guts to before.
Nate: CD I love you. I always have. You mean the world to me. I
don't want to be without you for a single second you complete me.
CD: Oh Nate. What took you so long? she asks smiling at him.
Nate looks deeply into CD's eyes and gives her the kiss he's been
dying to for the almost two years he's known her. After they kiss
for what seems like an eternity to them, CD starts crying while
she's kissing Nate so he pulls away.
Nate: CD, are you alright??
CD: Oh Nate. I'm fine. I'm just so happy you have no idea. Why
didn't we do this sooner?
Nate: Who knows, but I'm really glad we're doing it now.
CD: So am I. she says.
CD: So, where's you're bedroom? she asks slyly.
Nate: Right this way, baby.
*And with that Nate stands up grabbing both her hands in his, and
leads her to his bedroom, and they kiss each other the whole way
there. Once at the bedroom, Nate lays down on his bed taking CD
with him. With more kisses to guide the way, CD undresses Nate
which is difficult because he was still in his work clothes from
the night before, as was CD. But once she rid him of everything
article of clothing, it was Nate's turn. Oh, how he had looked
foward to this. He ever so slowly undressed her, and once they were both naked they wasted no time getting the two bodies into one. As Nate entered her, he kissed her ever so softly and held her hand the whole time. Never had she made love to a man oh was that intimate. Nate clearly wasn't having sex. He was making love. With CD. And they were each the best the other had ever had. After it was over, they layed there together literally intertwined. CD was on her right side, and Nate on his left. And they lay facing each other kissing, while CD's left leg was between Nate's legs. And with them being as happy as they've both ever been, they just lay there. Kissing, and crying. And with that they knew, that they would be together until the end of there lives.*

dying to for the almost two years he's known her.
