View Full Version : Nick Rewind Collection
I got good news and bad news for fans of the old Nickelodeon. Season 2 of "The Adventures Of Pete And Pete" will be released on November 1st.
That is all they announced for now, that could change anytime.
All indeciation are that Pete And Pete sold more than expected, while "Clarissa Explains It All" sales were disappointing.
If you a fan of the old Nickeldeon, so far mixed results in the Rewind Collection. Hopefully they will release more shows on DVD.
anthontherun 08-22-2005, 02:21 PM Clarissa season 2 comes out November 1 as well. We just don't have cover art yet.

Clarissa S2 was announced a month ago. (http://tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=3757)
L&OFan4Eva 08-22-2005, 03:56 PM I also heard that the Clarissa sales were slightly disappointing but that Nick and Paramount planned to continue with the sets regardless because of the large fan base.

Thank you for the information. tvshowsondvd only said Pete And Pete S2 was coming. To be fair, a lot of major stores don't carry these DVDs, and most people have to buy them online.
Let's keep our fingers cross this continues. The show I want most released on DVD is "Kenan and Kel".
It is similar to "Clarissa Explains It All", large fan base, one of the stars (Kenan Thompson) moving on to post Nickelodeon stardom. Ah, here is goes!
TV DVD Fan 08-22-2005, 06:21 PM I love Double Dare and All That (early) and Kenan and Kel. I'd buy 'em for sure if they came out!
pat
anthontherun 08-22-2005, 09:42 PM I'd buy Kenan and Kel, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Salute Your Shorts, and Hey Dude (in addition to Pete and Pete) for sure. A few others I might consider getting, but that's all I know for sure.
I hope that all of the Pete and Pete shorts are collected on the next two volumes.
TVQuack 08-22-2005, 09:50 PM We need You Can't Do That on Television!!
No doubt. Along with Salute Your Shorts. Possibly Hey Dude as well.
dawsongirl 08-22-2005, 10:00 PM Along with Salute Your Shorts. Possibly Hey Dude as well.
Those were the 2 I was just thinking of. I haven't seen those shows in years, but I'd buy them.
Heck, I could watch Clarissa and Hey, Dude back-to-back with Sabrina, the Teenage Witch (seasons 5-7) and see Melissa Joan Hart and David Lascher coming and going.
Rumor from Nickdisk, and this is just a rumor. The next Nick shows to be released as part of the Rewind Collecton sometime in 06 are All That, Kenan and Kel, and Figure It Out.
The one that surprises me the most is Figure It Out, because shows that had new episodes daily, and gameshows normally are not released on DVD.
If this true though, I hope All That has all of the musical guests. I will pick up both All That, and Kenan and Kel on day of release.
Chelsea 09-03-2005, 07:04 PM *cough* Hey Dude, Salute Your Shorts, Welcome Freshmen, Space Cases, Alex Mack, etc *cough* (Wow, what a cough)
Johnny S 09-03-2005, 07:28 PM The shows I'd like to see are: Rocko's Modern Life, Doug, Rugrats, Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, Hey Arnold!, and CatDog.
EmoJoe 09-03-2005, 09:43 PM I also heard that the Clarissa sales were slightly disappointing but that Nick and Paramount planned to continue with the sets regardless because of the large fan base.
Something Sony should think about doing

You Can't Do That On Television (I will go completely nuts if that ever comes out)
Hey Dude
Salute Your Shorts
Pinwheel
Wonderful World of David the Gnome
Other shows that I'd like released that aren't property of Nick or Paramount (at least not that I know of)
Mysterious Cities of Gold
Spartakus & The Sun Beneath the Sea

Mapletown
Out of Control
Noozles

I don't know if this show is under Nick license. I know it was made at CJOH in Canada, I would assume they have the rights. I don't care who has them, RELEASE IT NOW!! I miss Moose! :)
Storywriter 09-05-2005, 12:34 AM I'd get Hey Dude, and Space Cases with no problem.I loved both shows.I have Salute your shorts and Are You Afraid of The Dark. They were being sold at some classic Nick site that is no longer up.They were copied from tapes to DVD.
Problem is some of the episodes of both SYS and AYAFTD were screwed up big time. The person never watched to make sure they were copied good.It pissed me off.I may just buy them in a regular store if they ever come out.
Right now what I have will do fine until they get a store release if ever. But if a Episode or a few Episodes are screwed up and you paid it can be quite disappointing.
Caffeine King 09-05-2005, 01:17 AM :D I hope that they'll release Rocko. I love that show!
Figure It Out I liked as a kid but now that I've seen it in reruns recently it's not all that great (a good time killer) but I won't be getting the DVD
Hopefully the news about All That is true. I haven't seen the original (earlier season) episodes since they were first aired and were in reruns the first few years it was on.
Kenan & Kel I loved...but I dunno if I'll dish out the dough for a DVD release. Isn't it still on TV? On is sometimes?
I hope they'll release Alex Mack, Rocko =D (I've seen reruns of it recently and it still lives up to the greatness my childhood deemed it with way back when) also YCDTOT....I remember watching it as a kid and I remember seeing the kids on there get slimed (with slime and other things) and then popping out of colorful lockers...
Kenan & Kel reruns are not on the air at all in the U.S., however they still air Kenan & Kel in the U.K.
I would pick up Kenan & Kel, the day of release. I hope they would have the rare pilot episode. The episode where Kenan buys a car he does not is stolen.
platinumblondelife 09-06-2005, 12:17 AM the only shows I would probably buy would be All That if they include the musical guests...so I'd like to see All That (with musical guests) and Rocko's Modern Life. Maybe Kenan and Kel, but I doubt it...

I just went to the Locker Room at www.ycdtotv.com and Josh Yawn said that those weren't the titles that he heard directly from Nick, and he's been saying for months that he has some insider info that he can't give out. So I'm guessing that the rumor is false. Here's the thread

Humm, when they said Figure It Out, I had my doubts. That does not fit. All That, Kenan and Kel makes sense. What shows did this guy mention? I think All That, Kenan and Kel will be released edventullly. Those were the flag ship shows of Nick in the mid to late 90's. And between the two shows, your talking about a handful people that went on to big time carrers.
If All That is canceled, that qualifies it more for the Nick rewind collection.
I went on the YCDTOT website, and went to the message board, and found this guy said All That was one of the shows that Nickelodeon would release on DVD.

This guy is a flip flopper or knows as much as we do. How can he say All That is on the list for future release, then say it is not. All That has enough of a fan base, that if it is on the list for future releases, it stays on the list, unless they are realing have major problems clearing music. If All That is released on DVD, they have the music. They had great musical guest in the beginning, and the music intro skecthes were great. I think Mavis and Clavis were in more music intro sketches than regular sketches.
Just announced the next Rewind Collection release will be on February 28th, when they will release season 3 of Pete And Pete.
More shows could come on that February 28th date.

I emailed someone at CJOH about the series and they said they are currently in talks with Nickelodeon about a DVD release. I would die if that came out, I was born in 84 so I was young when I watched the episodes, but I still remember it very clearly.
My favorites I would like released:
The Angry Beavers
Rocko's Modern Life
Tiny Toons
Aaaahhh! Real Monsters
Hey Dude
Salute Your Shorts
I got some big news. It is my plessure to announce that You Can't Do That On Television will be released on DVD in the spring of 2006. According to tvshowsondvd.com

I SCREAMED when I saw that in my inbox. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I haven't seen most of the episodes of YCDTOTV on TV in more than 15 years (16 years by the time it comes out to DVD, and it WILL come out, dammit). Sigh...I miss that show sooooooo much. I can't believe it's been that long since it ended. 1990...damn.
