Universal's speeding up: I noticed a pattern: Quantum Leap S4 out on 12/13 and MSW S2 is out on 12/6. So does this means that Northern Exposure S4 will be out on either 11/29 or 12/20? Just a thought.

snapcases are the cases generally used for movies, like the discs for Murder She Wrote season 1.

Digipacks are the cardboard ones that you fold out, like the Cheers and Friends sets.

Just got my What's Happening Season 3 set. I plan to watch it later on tonight :)

Sony has plans to release the first season of Fantasy Island later this year. The series starred Ricardo Montalban as Mr. Rourke, and Hervé Villechaize as Tattoo.

The release will include the 1977 pilot Fantasy Island, the 1978 Return to Fantasy Island and the other 14 regular season episodes which ran from January to May of 1978.

We'll have more information when this is officially announced.

DAMMIT...11/22?! Definitely asking for that for Xmas...No way, no how I can pick it up on release day. :mad: It's awesome it's coming out though. :D I've been wanting to get LITB on DVD.

I hope WB releases the first season of Growing Pains, not a TV Favorites Collection of Christmas Episode Collection or anything like that. As much as I'm a bigger fan of GP, I'd still love to see FT come out on DVD. It's surprising if GP makes it first.

I don't understand what the holdup for Sony is with subsequent Diff'rent Strokes seasons and getting Facts Of Life out. Those two shows have a HUGE following and neither of them air widely in syndication currently. I think they have nothing to lose by getting the entire series' of both shows out on DVD (even though I doubt I'll get seasons 7 and 8 of Strokes unless I can get em for free) because DVD is the only option that fans of either show who either 1. aren't in Chicago or 2. don't get Comcast have to see these shows.

Fantasy Island is coming out on DVD--so what about The Love Boat as well? I'm going to keep hoping that it will come out someday soon.

D'ya remember the TSOD announcement that was posted in 03 regarding the release of IDOJ? They said IDOJ S1 would come out when the movie came out. It was going to come out this year I think, but they pushed it back to 2006. I'm guessing probably mid-2006, like Bewitched and The Dukes of Hazzard. :)

The 60s sitcom release of Family Affair was somewhat of a disappointment. But I guess it makes sense given the year the sitcom started.

And I'm very glad to hear about Full House Season 2 coming out in December. I was wondering when that would be coming. That one is definitely a "must get right away" and not a Christmas list item. it looks to be about the same size. I was kinda hoping that they would be in thinpack cases like Roseanne or Charmed season 2 so it wouldn't be so bulky on the shelf. I really do need to replace my season 6 though, I have two defective discs on that set (I exchanged it twice at Suncoast when I got it, I think they had a defective shipment) and season 6 is one of my favorite years and one of the affected episodes is perhaps the most famous episode of the entire series (Once More With Feeling).

seems like Sony is purposely holding off FOL, ODAAT, DS S2 and WTB S2 just to keep people on the edge of their seats waiting. I think all four sets will do well. I also think now that Sanford's finished, only one season to go for Soap, Good Times and Starsky And Hutch, and we can bet on Seinfeld being completed in November 2006 that they will be able to set their sites on some of the other shows that got left behind.

I agree, an extra 3-6 months is worth it to get the uncut series. I was hoping Pav was going to say it's going to be unedited.

Amazon dropped the price of Buffy-Chosen Collection an extra $10, so I used my $16 in giftcards on it and preordered, and decided to sell off seasons 2-7. My season 1 is in kinda bad shape (but it still plays perfectly) so I am just going to give it to a friend who wanted to get the sets but doesn't have the money to afford it.
