Basically, here people can just post quotes they like from either a book or a play. You don't have to guess where they came from or anything, although you can if you want to. But I thought it would be nice to have a thread that have quotes from books/plays. I think of it as a sort-of game, so I put it here (and also I think it's most appropriate here, anyway.)
Anyway, here are some quotes of my own:
"It was the classic Mother BB Gun Block! I was sunk! That deadly phrase, used many times before by hundreds of mothers, was not surmountable by any means known to Kid-Dom. I had really booted it, but such was my mania, my desire for a Red Ryder carbine, that I immediately began to rebuild the dike."
- From the book "In God We Trust: All Others Pay Cash"
"My mother would simply throw her shoulder against the front door, pushing back the advancing drifts and stone ice, the wind raking the living-room rufg with angry fury for an instant, and we would be launched, my brother and I, like astronauts into unfriendly Arctic space. The door clanged shut behind us and that was it. It was make school or die!"
- From "In God We Trust: All Others Pay Cash"
