I dont know if there's any actual articles about this, but Bo is really sick..He missed the Las Vegas show because he was in the hospital and I just heard that it was on the news that he's not coming back for the rest of the tour. Here's what I've seen so far on message boards:

"I am friends with a member of Bo's family and have been told he is a very sick young man. It is NOT his broken foot and it is NOT blood poisoning. He is in the hospital and Caroline and his Mother are both there. The Family is requesting that all of you say some special prayers for him at his time, as soon as you read this because he is going to need all of our prayers. There is no other information that I can release at this time, but will come back on this thread when I get some news that I can share with everyone. Please everyone keep Bo in your prayers! God bless!"

Hi Whitney! I understand your concern, and I hate to say it, but I am telling the truth as it was told to me by Bo's relative that I am friends with...I have to respect their privacy here and cannot post anymore than I already have. All I am authorized to release to everyone, is that it is very serious....it is not an infection, it is not his foot, it is not the new tattoo, but it is serious enough for them to ask for your prayers. Bo's brother was in a car wreck 2 days ago in one place and Nancy had to fly to be with him, and now, she's had to leave him and fly to go be with Bo.....the poor woman has had to leave one son's bedside to be with another.....Pray for her to stay strong through this all, and also for Caroline who I am sure is sick with worry! We all are! And no, this is not a joke or no laughing matter, and Bo does not need tricks to get fans.......I would never be so sick to resort to that! Just Pray for Bo and his family, that's all that I am asking. I don't kid around about praying!

they had a news story on this at 9pm on the Bham TV station. They interviewed Bo's pastor who asked for prayers for Bo and his family. I was upset and missed part of the interview but someone else said that they reported he would not continue with the tour. Bo's pastor also mentioned they would be running more tests but that they were not releasing any information at this time.

Fox 6 reported that they don't know when he's going to return yet. They haven't taken him out yet so all the "Bo is not returning to the idol tour" reports from local stations etc. is all speculation considering Fox would be the most reliable source.


I dunno...Rumors are crazy. But still, he is really really sick. It sounds serious. :(

There's a rumor on one of the AI boards that it's apparently kidney failure. Whatever it is, I hope he gets better.

First of all I would like for everyone to know I asked permission before I posted any of this information. It has not been that Bo and his family has not wanted to release any information , it's just that they have had a very hard time and the only thing on their mind right now was Bo.

Bo did have surgery last night. He has been alot sicker than I knew. Bo had a kink in his intestines and had to have emergency surgery last night. The did fly in a specialist to perform the surgery. Due to the fact they have not known how long the kink has been there Bo has just got sicker and sicker. Week after week. Maybe you do not call it blood poisoning but the poison from the kink did set up in Bo's body. The surgery was a sucess and Bo is recovering. Yes, he is still very sick but the outcome is going to be great, if everything goes as expected. I would say this is one reason Bo has been sick off and on and a reason for the weight loss. The sad thing is there will be a long recovery time. As soon as Bo is able he will be moved to a hospital closer to home.

Hope I did not leave anything out. But, this was the exact information I just got off the phone receiving. Everyone relax and get some rest! Now, that the problem has been found and repaired our Bo is going to be fine again. Say your prayer for no futher problems and Thank God that Bo will be fine. All of you have been wonderful.

Yes - here's the story on Yahoo this morning. Sounds like he may even have something like Crohn's Disease (ran through my family) and both my mother and brother had to have bowel ressections (like Bo's surgery). As long as peritinitis (sp?) (infection) doesn't set it badly he should be fine. This is probably what was wrong with him at the final too - when they called it stomach flu.

He may not wanna be, but Bo Bice has been sidelined.

After missing Thursday's concert on the American Idols Live! tour, the long-haired crooner underwent emergency surgery in Las Vegas on Friday to remove a blockage in his intestines.

Fans were disappointed when Bice failed to take the stage at Vegas' Thomas & Mack Arena last week and started up a "We want Bo!" chant, which eventually prompted season four Idol winner Carrie Underwood to announce that the singer had been hospitalized.

According to a posting on the Website for his band, Sugarmoney, the operation was successful, though Bice reportedly must return home to rest for a minimum of six weeks, which would mean that he would not be returning to the Idols Live! tour.

The American Idol runner-up's grandmother, "Granny Madge" Schofield, told the Decatur Daily News that Bice "has had ulcers most of his life" and is also prone to food poisoning.

"But his problem now doesn't have anything to do with either," Schofield said.


Bice's actual diagnosis remains unclear--to both his public and to his Granny Madge.

"I don't know the diagnosis. But I'll tell you what I do know. If prayer works, Bo will be all right," Schofield said.

It's been a rough summer for the Alabama rocker. Earlier this month, he broke his foot during a show in Manchester, New Hampshire, but vowed to continue performing.

"There's no keeping me from the tour," Bice told People magazine at the time.

Then, last week in Los Angeles, Bice's half-brother, John Cohran, and his pregnant wife were hospitalized after their car slid into an 18-wheeler on their way home from an Idols Live! show. Both have since been released, per the Decatur Daily News.

Bice's mother, Nancy Downes, was previously scheduled to go visit Cohran in Los Angeles Monday, but changed her plans late last week after learning that Bice would need emergency treatment and flew to his side instead.

Since undergoing surgery, Bice has missed two shows in California. As of Monday afternoon, there was no official statement from the promoters of the Idols Live! tour regarding the singer's health.
