My hero is actually Ellen DeGeneres. Both of us have gone through a lot of the same things and I don't know anyone else in my life who has. We were both molested and her advice really really helped me through. I also look up to a lot of our American Presidents.

John Walsh. He turned a personal tragedy into a crusade. I admire and have a lot of respect for him.

I definately agree with you on that one, Janice...his story always breaks my heart but he managed to turn something so horrible in to positive work.

I also admire John Ritter, as everyone already knows :) It just makes me so happy to see a celebrity that was so modest, humble, kind-hearted, and talented....I am sad he's gone :(

Thank you. Only those who have defended our country have my respect. Not those who sit back and B***** & complain abt wars and our country. Thanx to all who have defended our country. Even those who were born in other countries and came here, became citizens and defended our country.

When it comes to my heroes,my American Hero is John Cenahttp://john-cena.c0m.it/foto.jpgbecause there were people that didn't like me last year just like there are WWE fans who don't like him,but we both just say FU to the haters and run with the people who stick by our side no matter what.

When it comes to Real American Heroes,my American Hero is Kurt Anglehttp://www.usoc.org/angle.jpgbecause not only did be win a gold medal in the 1996 Olympics with broken neck, but he doesn't care who he faces in the ring and just wrestles them

Btw, his name was Tommy Douglas...who was recently named " The greatest Canadian" ( in history ) in a nation-wide CBC poll/reality show, so, anyone who thinks Canadians dont love our system, imperfect as it can be at times, should absorb THAT little bit of info!!! ( The only nay-sayers are the rich , who want the system to FAVOUR them, the way it does in the USA )

Under MY system, by law, everyone who walks into the emergency room has to be treated whether they have insurance and/or can or cannot pay for it.
You would be able to afford clinics, btw.

Under YOUR system, practically everything, including postage stamps, is taxed to pay for the universal health care. And, again, there is the waiting list.

Mikado

The waiting list applies to the cases that are not high priority, if you have a real medical emergency you go to the head of the class....but then, the rich here think they should get special treatment...sound familiar , Fleet?
btw, this is off topic, so, Im not going to argue the point anymore.

Not always. As the chart shows, there is a waiting list for non-emergency cardiac-type surgery, which means someone can die before her or she gets treated.

No, if someone walks into an emergency room and says, "I'm rich," he or she will still have to wait. Now, rich and famous is something different, but they get special treatment in other countries, too (even Canada ;) ).
