I never watched this growing up because I was too young to understand the humor. But I just saw it today for the first time in years and it's really a great show. It may even be better than "The Bob Newhart Show" from the 70s.

If you would ever be interested in making copies for any kind of a trade, please let me know.

Just wait -- it gets even better in the second season (with the switch from videotape to film and the replacement of Leslie by her spoiled sister Stephanie).

Also, as usual on the Comedy Network, nearly all the episodes are uncut so far, except for a few episodes where the uncut versions weren't available. Good marks to the Comedy Network.

Additional info:
Newhart is on the Comedy Channel at 9:30 am EST and 3:30 EST (same episode repeated).
If you have a satellite dish you can get it via Starchoice (http://www.starchoice.com/)
a company based near Fredericton NB CAN.

Die-hard Newhart fans in the US may be able to view this series if they buy a starchoice dish and subscribe to their service.
(dish is pretty cheap, nor sure of the monthly costs)
It's common up here for canucks to get US dishes and subscribe to US Sat. services like Direct Vu, all legally.

They just started showing the series 3 weeks ago and are going in order.
Safe to say it will be on until at least next fall for those who have missed the first few weeks worth of episodes. The comedy channel is pretty good that way, they'll show an entire series at least twice usually, like they are doing with All in the Family right now.
