My husband and I watch a lot of discussion shows, and there are so many men who wear toupees, from the hosts to the guests. My husband will always ask me, "Is that a wig or what?"

Some toupees are obvious and others are hard to tell. Once it's pointed out, you can't stop noticing how many men wear toupees on television.

Do you think any toupees look completely natural?

I always knew that Ted Danson wore one but I could never tell. When he took it off for Carla in that one show it really made a difference in his appearance.

What is hilarious is the comb-over! 10 strands of hair on the far side of the head combed alllll the way over to try and cover up the baldness!

You don't know what you're talking about. Comb-overs are very natural looking.

I saw that episode again recently, and to me it looked like he just took the crown piece off, but I think there was more toupee in the front. In other words, they split it up for the scene, when in reality Danson's toupee was more than just the crown. I could be wrong on that.

I saw Bruce Willis in a movie last night, and his toup was natural looking.

Ted Danson wears a toupee?! omg:

I had absolutely no idea. Then again, I never really watched any of his shows, but his hair always looked natural to me.

Doesn't William Shatner wear a toupee too? I always say he looks waaaay young for his age and my mom told me that's because he wears a toupee. It totally doesn't look like he's wearing one!

I'm pretty sure Shatner does wear one.

I think the ones on John Wayne and Burt Reynolds look(ed) quite natural.

As for me, I'll never know for sure because I'm not balding at all.

You are better off just shaving your head instead of putting on "horse Hair."

Donald Trump needs a toupee. His hair has got to be the most insane thing going. Does this man have any friends to tell him? Does he own a mirror?

I love that episode, its one of my favorite of the entire series.

I hated that. I also hated that he decided to go without the toupee during the 200th episode special. Sam's hair was a big part of his character, and I don't wish to see him without it. It was sad. Plus that was a great toupee, so if he would've just kept it on no one would have ever known that he had one for sure.

In general toupees are creepy. If my dad ever lost his hair and wore one I would never be able to look at him without thinking about it.

I can't remember where I heard it at but Kevin Dobson from Kojak and Knots Landing has one.

One of the Gym teachers where I went to HS wore one. It was obvious to everyone that it was a phony because half the time he didn't have it on straight and the color didn't even blend in with his natural hair. One time we were having a fire drill out on the football field and he slipped on the wet grass and the thing fell off.

My husband went bald in his early 50's and he then just shaved his head. He is not the type to be bothered with putting on a toupee or wig which is just fine with me. He is still very sexy

He accepts his baldness as I know a lot of men cannot. I realize that baldness can be very traumatic to some men. But part of my husband's charm is that he has always been so self confident(which I admire because I never was) That he can just accept what life hands him! I say More power to him! :clap :happyface

Former Mayor Guliani looks way better since he got rid of his comb-over. He looks good. I agree with you Brian. Look at John Amos and Louis Gossett Jr.

Actually, they're made of some of the finest real hair in the world (the good ones). Most of it comes from Europe and it's about a foot long when they put it on and then they cut and style it up from there.

The good ones can look very natural but there is upkeep otherwise it starts being obvious. Really expensive too.

You know, I think u r right. When he appeared on Kojak, his hair was way less than he had on Knots Landing. He looks older in the 70's than he did in the 80's.

Yeah, a toupee designed by a blind guy created with monkey hair.

He used to, at least when Cheers was still producing episodes. He was seriously balding in the back, so he wore one... but he got rid of it eventually and his hair has since long grown back (Rogaine, anyone?), but his hair is white now.

Yeah, a toupee designed by a blind guy created with monkey hair.

!!!!! God...that guy needs to shave his head. His own hair is HIDEOUS the way he styles it! :barf:
