Bad customer service is a huge pet peeve of mine. (Bad customer behavior bothers me too, but that's another story.) My friend and I were hanging at the mall earlier today and while she was checking out Abercrombie & Finch, I went over to WaldenBooks. I happened to be browsing for about twenty minutes or so when an employee comes up to me and barks, "Are you gonna buy somethin' or WHAT?" I looked at her and said, "Yes, actually, I was about to buy this book, but now I don't think I will" and walked out. Another time, a couple of weeks ago, I waited over ten minutes in line at the local CVS while the cashier stood there chatting with a friend. My mom and I went out to dinner the other night and the waitress looked annoyed because my mother <gasp!> asked her for a straw for her iced tea.

What are some customer service nightmares you guys have experienced?

That worker is an idiot! What's the point of having a bookstore if you can't go in there for hours and read some books! I've ton that PLENTY of times. They sure as hell have a lot better (and more current) books at bookstores than they do at my library! I have never in my life though had a worker come up to me and say are you going to buy something or what. People do that ALL the time at bookstores and there's no problem with it! Just as long as you leave when the store closes. :)

Oh, and the only bad customer service I had happen to me that I can remember was when I was checking out some stuff at Michael's (the craft store) last year and the cashier lady (maybe in her 40's?) did not say ONE thing to me the whole time (except what the price was I think) BUT..... she was chit chatting and gossiping with her co-worker next to her the whole time!

I believe that when you are helping the customer that customer COMES first! (I don't believe in "the customer is always right"- that's a load of bull.) She could've at least said a simple "hi" or "thank you" when she was done but nope she just continued to gossip with her co-worker! I just kind of stood there at the end waiting for her to say somethign and I was ALMOST going to say "thank you have a nice day!" like REALLY forcefully, but then I didn't.

It was weird because usually you except the young workers to act that way and the older ones like this lady to be nice, but actually at the store the young workers were VERY nice and helpful and this lady wasn't! So, it was the opposite!
