Is anybody going to buy the Dark Shadows: The Revival Series on DVD. It is only 13 or 14 episodes. I didn't watch this show the first time around. Was it any good? I'm curious to see 60's horror movie queen Barbara Steele play Dr. Hoffman.

I'm going to buy it. In fact, I already pre-ordered it from Amazon last week. I never saw it either when it was on so I'm looking forward to seeing these episodes to see how they differ from the originals and how they are similar.

I saw it and I did like it. i thought it was going to be a hit.

As for Barbara Steele... I'll never forget one time I went to a Dark Shadows festival and I hapened to have my camera and I tried to take a picture of her and she hid her face. She didn't like me to take her picture. I was so dissapointed. :(

For many years she never liked the horror movies she made because she never really wanted to do those kinds of movies. She has slowly become more appreciative of her Italian work from the 60's. I think she hates the movie Shivers. I wonder if she is a shy person or if she is a little bit unappreciative of her fans.

I don't think you guys will want to buy this set. I read the top and bottom parts of the picture will be cropped because it's being released in widescreen and that the episodes are the NBC episodes and not the extended versions that MPI released on VHS. I could deal with edited episodes but since the picture will be cropped, I don't want it.

Honestly, I don't get into technical stuff like that. I know that some people get into all that wide-screen, full-screen stuff but I could care less. To be honest, if I hadn't read your post I never probably would have known that the top/bottom were cropped. If I was going to be "upset" about anything, I would be much more upset about the episodes being edited down in regards to the material available. But seeing that I've never seen this revival series, I guess ALL of it is going to be new to me. So I'm looking forward to getting it so that I can compare this series with the old series.
