If there is one inconsistency, it's breakfast . There are poor families in the world, but not poor enough to eat the same thing everyday. Products such as eggs and bread is cheaper than oatmeal. After a while, it grew sickening to watch them at breakfast every morning.

There was one episode where Florida was cracking some eggs to prepare a dish, but not breakfast. Why not use those eggs for breakfast.

Didn't Thelma make JJ some pancakes one time? I forgot what he had done to deserve them.

Actually, when youre poor, oatmeal is a healthy but cheap and filling meal...I was VERY poor as a kid, we had oatmeal for SUPPER as much as THREE times a week!
( Today i cant even stand to LOOK at oatmeal, never mind EAT it )

Yeah back then Oatmeal and Grits were very cheap.

Don't get me wrong. I grew up on grits and we used to eat them at least three times a week when I was kid. As a matter of fact, I still eat it (and Cream O Wheat) on ocassion. However, to eat it everyday. People at least switch up from time to time.

When you're really poor it's not like you have a choice, If you notice a lot of times they didn't have meat with thier meals, Just Greens and Cornbread. They ate chicken alot since you can cook it a lot of diff ways LOL.

I guess we have to assume that they ate other things for breakfast since we only saw them once a week. So in reality, they didn't have oatmeal everyday (we see them everyday now thanx to reruns).

That's a good point, it seemed like JJ wore the same grey sweater everyday cause out of the first 6 shows he wore it 4 times. But in reality he only wore it about once a week.

speaking of JJ's sweaters (shirts) i noticed last night a turtleneck he was wearing had a logo on it. In another episode he had a shirt that appeared to have the same logo on it. It is small right on his left chest area. could it be the "hang ten" logo, the one with the small foot?

Oatmeal is cheap and nutritional. :)

Then James had no one to blame but himself (or Florida) for the fact that JJ had 12 cavities. You have to put sugar on oatmeal to make it taste good.

JJ was also a junk food junkie. He ate snickers bars, Big Macs and Kool Aid.
