View Full Version : "I'm Telling Game Show" CMAC28 08-19-2005, 09:46 AM Anyone remember this Saturday morning game show? Does anyone have in on tape/DVD????? howilu 08-19-2005, 04:51 PM "I'm Telling" was a Saturday morning game show from the early 80s that was hosted by Laurie Faso, who starred in the 70s kids show "Marlo and the Magic Movie Machine." The announcer was Dean Goss, who would later announce a revival of "High Rollers" that was hosted by Wink Martindale. The show looked like a ripoff of "The Newlywed Game", featuring three brother-sister teams who were asked questions about how well they knew each other. The team with the most points got to play the Pick a Prize Arcade for a variety of prizes. Even though the show lasted one season on NBC (the Minneapolis affiliate didn't carry it), "I'm Telling" was rerun on The Family Channel. snl75 08-19-2005, 06:57 PM it was an awful show they should destory every tape of it that exists yuck Harper49 08-19-2005, 07:46 PM And Howard Stevens was the Executive Producer for DiC. rodwayne 09-08-2005, 06:21 PM I DISAGREE!!! I thought that this was a cute game show!It was about the only time that NBC actually had a damn good Saturday morning schedule;their best ever!!!The host was perfect;the theme song just right;even the announcer(I always pay close attension to whom's announcing the shows)was perfect.Sure it was a so-called rip off of The Newlywed Game, but that should have been flattering;instead, the show got sued by none other than the usually easy going Chuck Barris(I could never figure that out!)I would love to see them re-vive this one;even if its on Nick(so that they can "screw it up"). megamanj2004 09-14-2005, 07:48 PM Actually, it was a late '80s GS that DID run on NBC's Saturday Morning schedule, but it was from 1987-88. Family Channel (now known as the BORING ABC Family) used to rerun this GS in the mid '90s after reruns of Punky Brewster. True, it was a Newlywed Game-ripoff, but I liked that great turntable set, theme music, and that bonus round, The Prize Arcade, kicked serious @$$! The host, Laurie Faso, though looked like a total nerd. Not a terribly bad show, though. If only most weekend morning schedules would look like that, it would be a great place. :) ILuvZackMorris 09-19-2005, 12:26 AM I remember this show. A Long long time ago, when ALF was still on, there was a show called "Alf Loves a Mystery" where ALF worked with kids to find clues that would introduce us to the NBC saturday morning lineup - Smurfs, Fraggle Rock, etc. I wish they'd bring back family entertainment like this. I wish I could have done the prize arcade, that would have been fun! Harper49 09-24-2005, 12:45 PM What Production Company did the show Produced by? megamanj2004 09-26-2005, 01:13 PM It was produced by DiC and Saban Productions. Harper49 09-26-2005, 03:50 PM Ah, thank you. But was Haim Saban the Executive Producer? megamanj2004 09-27-2005, 01:41 PM It was produced by either or both Haim Saban and/or Shuki Levy. I'm not fully sure, though; but I know that Haim Saban was one of the producers of this show. Harper49 09-27-2005, 03:25 PM Who else is the Executive Producer? megamanj2004 09-27-2005, 03:55 PM "I'm Telling" was a Saturday morning game show from the early 80s that was hosted by Laurie Faso, who starred in the 70s kids show "Marlo and the Magic Movie Machine." The team with the most points got to play the Pick a Prize Arcade for a variety of prizes. Even though the show lasted one season on NBC (the Minneapolis affiliate didn't carry it), "I'm Telling" was rerun on The Family Channel. It was around exactly the same time that he'd announce High Rollers. Harper49 09-27-2005, 08:06 PM And the music was composed by Level 22. Who are the Executive Producers of I'm Telling? megamanj2004 09-28-2005, 01:22 PM You mean the same team that also did the theme song to Wordplay, which also aired on NBC? Harper49 09-28-2005, 02:19 PM Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyep. But who were the Exceutive Producers for I'm Telling? Harper49 11-05-2005, 05:19 PM <SHORTENED FOR EDITING> LarryJ 11-05-2005, 09:25 PM Besides the sets of brothers-sisters, they had... BROTHERS DAY (2): On both episodes, two older-younger brother teams didn't squabble or complain, because they got a perfect 425 score! But failed to win all 10 prizes @ the arcade. SISTERS DAY (2) CELEBRITY SIBLINGS (1): Winnings were donated to charity. In Houston, KPRC had the show @ 6:00 am! Boy did I have to wake up with the chickens to catch that show! Harper49 11-05-2005, 09:32 PM Were Howard Stevens and Haim Saban are Executive Producers for I'm Telling..? megamanj2004 11-07-2005, 12:42 PM Were Howard Stevens and Haim Saban are Executive Producers for I'm Telling..?
