Hate to be the forebearer of bad news but it looks like the popular series set during the era of "American Bandstand" is coming to an end. :( If a thread already exists somewhere here, my apologies and the moderators can move, delete this thread, whatever.
American Dreams Axed
Last Update: 4/29/2005 4:00:02 PM
The TV drama series that brought back the American Bandstand era and featured modern pop stars portraying their 1960s heroes has been axed.
American Dreams, which has featured Usher as Marvin Gaye, Alicia Keys as Fontella Bass and Nick Lachey as Tom Jones, has been slipping in the ratings for much of its current season and now bosses at network NBC have decided the dreams are over for the cast.
The show, which won two Emmy Awards, focused on a Catholic Philadelphia, Pennsylvania family desperately trying to come to terms with a changing country.
