Did anybody think it was cheesy when they had Arnold guest star on FOL? Naturally, we knew it was to bring in the ratings from everybody who watched Diff'rent Strokes. I mean everybody knew Mrs. G started at the Drummonds, but I thought it was cheesy to have them on the pilot episode.

Yep. Fer sure. It was better when they got rid of all those girls and just stuck with the four.

Now I actually like the first season. Lord knows why, but I do. I think it is because of the cheeziness. I forgot about the King of Queens mom ( Jenny O'Hara) being on the early episodes  She looks like Cristy Lane that religious singer.

oh man, Jenny would get on my nerves!!!!!! I couldn't stand her character. Or her acting. I don't know what bothered me more. As for her on King of Queens, she is good.

Now we see why they got rid of her fast. Maybe she and Mr. Bradley got fired from Eastland, and then they ran off to get married. Eastland then got Mr. Parker.

Thanks for reminding me...I couldn't stand Mr. Bradley either!!!! Notice how Blair's character changed as well. She was this sexy hot teen then she was more conservative by the time the Jo character was brought in. I am really confused. I understand that Lisa Welchel is a strict catholic (?) and I enjoy reading abt her life being a mom, etc. But, I would think she would have put her foot down on the way Blair was portrayed in the beginning. She put her foot down on the episode where Natalie loses her virginity.

Ever notice in the first season the girls seemed to wear their regular clothes a lot. Blair wore those tight Jordache jeans, and she seemed to be made up more. I liked her purple Harvest Queen gown. When Jo came on they were always in their uniform. I think they wanted Blair to lose it first, but Lisa Whelchel strictly refused. Mindy Cohn begged them to let it be her to do it first.

Oh yeah, I remember that dress!!! She looked soooo nice. Also, those jordache jeans were so damn tight. Did you also notice when the Jo character was introduced, Blair (Lisa) had gained alot of weight? I liked her like that.

Yeah, people made fun of Lisa for gaining weight. Pleeeessse!! Everytime an actress gains 10 pounds she is immediately this horrible pig. I think Joan Rivers once called the show The Fats of Life.

Yes she did!!! What a snob!!! For example, Leah Remini from King of Queens, still has her weight from giving birth. But in my eyes, it is beautiful. I am glad she didn't go straight to the gym and/or starve herself. Leah remaining at her weight is so true of alot of women who have babies. Women can identify with her. She is beautiful no matter what, I just think she is "keeping it real".

I think it would have been better to have Gary Coleman appear later in the first season. or Maybe season 2. Defintely not the Pilot

I didn't say she was. Look at my post again. see the question mark (?). I put that there cuz I know she is religious, but I am not sure of her religion. I had thought she was when I started to write the post, which is why I put the (?) there. Got it. Good.

I think the reason they had BLAIR, NANCY + SUE ANN wear tight, sexy clothes is because that was the 70ies fashion: just watch "CHARLIE S ANGELS" or "WONDER WOMAN" & you ll see how sexy they all look lol!
By season 2 it was the 1980ies which has a complete different crazy, rebel fashion + also the facts that the producers wanted the BLAIR character to look like a normal teenage girl from the 80ies! So they had her wearing more appropiate clothes sometimes & of course the school uniform most of the time.....

Johnny be good!
