I graduated almost 3 months ago, so I thought it was never going to happen unless I worked over an hour away from my house. Not only do I get to work 10 minutes from home, the place pays in the nice "out of town" salary range. And I will get specialty training so that I can add some more letters behind my name by this time next year. im so thrilled I could cry!!!

The more letters behind your name that no one knows what they mean, the better. :D

I'm a respiratory therapist, but I will be cross trained to work in the sleep disorders laboratory. So I can work toward a specialty in that (polysomnography). If one has a lot of experience in something like that, its not too uncommon to land a $70,000+ job. That would be so cool, because my mom is retired and Im going to support her now.

Right on. what job are you doing? im praying for lots of overtime. Time and a half pay would be just unreal - beyond anything i ever imagined. All you youngen folk who come to this board -- i spent 5 semesters getting my degree and I have more than doubled my salary! do it, its worth it!! Plus, i will get to enjoy my job a lot, when i was a nursing assistant people treated me like crap and i always felt bad.
