Does anyone remember the Lost Loves segment about a baby that was rescued from a Massachusetts car accident by an unknown good samaritan? The link at the top of this message is a recent article on it.
For those who are unfamiliar with the case, a woman named Donna Roberts was involved in a car accident in Waltham, MA, in early 1996. Although she was able to rescue her then 2-year-old son Scott, she was unable to open the car door to save her daughter Samantha (then two months old). Then a mysterious man entered the picture and rescued Samantha from the burning car.
Waltham, the town where the rescue took place, is about a 15-minute drive from where I live. However, while I have seen numerous news stories about automobile accidents, I often tend to recall mostly general information about them, which is probably why I wasn't familiar with with this particular case until it was shown on UM. (The article mentions the fact that the incident was presented on UM in the fall of 1996.)
Donna Roberts is longing to find that unknown hero. My belief is that this unknown rescuer has told someone about his good deed; I don't see how or why he would keep such a heroic effort a secret. And that's gives me some ray of hope that he will one day be identified.
