Just saw the 1974 episode where William Christopher (Father Mulcahy on M*A*S*H) played a guest role as an army doctor(!) at an induction center where J.J. was taking a physical.

This would have been during M*A*S*H's second or third season, so it appeared that William Christopher was moonlighting. Of course, he wasn't a full cast member on M*A*S*H at that point - he was still a recurring character - so he probably worked other jobs to bring in the bucks. I wonder if him playing a doctor was a tongue-in-cheek little jab at M*A*S*H.

If I am correct, it was M*A*S*H that has the distinction of being the first t.v. sitcom to kill off a leading character. Played by McLean Stevenson. Good Times has the second distinction of being the second t.v. sitcom to kill of a leading character. Is it karma or what that a character from MASH appeared on GOOD TIMES? Spooky or what?
