I notice this little backwards "L" shaped spec between Herman and Lily, is in every opening credit of episodes 14-38. That means that must have been there when the show was originally running. Correct?

It's a piece of dust printed on the original master negative - therefore the mark will feature identically on any copies struck from that negative.
