I never found their exchanges funny. Occasionally an insult will make me laugh, but when they went back and forth it was never funny. What is everybody else's take?

Occasionally an insult will make me laugh, but when they went back and forth it was never funny. What is everybody else's take? There was some funny Thelma moments. Not when she called J.J ugly because that was a known fact. These were some of the Thelma/J.J moments that made me laugh James had said FLorida shouldn't go back to school because You can't teach an old dog new tricks. So Thelma said she can help Florida with her homework, and J.J said-"How come you never made me that offer? Thelma said: "Because you can teach a Dumb Dog Nothing"-LOL And the other moment that stands out is when James was beating the bully and J.J said "can James Brown get down"? And Thelma looked at him and said "Is Your Head Dead?"-lol GARFIELDKOOL 08-13-2005, 01:17 PM I never found their exchanges funny. Occasionally an insult will make me laugh, but when they went back and forth it was never funny. What is everybody else's take? I agree with you. They had the most corniest insults towards each other. J.J. would annoy me when he would start off by saying, "You got some nerve you ol' ........ . Ireneparalegal 08-13-2005, 01:42 PM It just seemed they put that stuff between JJ and Thelma in as a "filler" where they needed to extend some time in between. It was okay on some episodes but it got out of hand. I just saw an episode two days ago (during the mini-marathon) where JJ and Thelma kept "bumping" into each other on "accident". Once, ok, but more than that it became ridiculous. Brian Damage 08-13-2005, 05:38 PM I agree with you. They had the most corniest insults towards each other. Exactly, most of the insults weren't even clever. magellan333 08-13-2005, 08:08 PM The first episode of the 3rd season, it seems they were really trying to hard with Thelma and J.J.s arguing. craftman 08-14-2005, 01:15 AM I never found their exchanges funny. Occasionally an insult will make me laugh, but when they went back and forth it was never funny. What is everybody else's take? I loved 'em. Yes, some were stale, but like Florida said in the ep "The Houseguest", "That's just brotherly and sisterly love". :) craftman 08-14-2005, 01:18 AM [QUOTE=RetroTVCollector]There was some funny Thelma moments. I loved when he started most every come back with that line. and then what ever they were insulting each other about, J.J. would try to stay with the theme, like..... Thelma: Your body was manufactured in a toothpick factory. J.J.: You got some nerve you ol' pine tree, lumber yard, I don't wanna hear that! lol  craftman 08-14-2005, 01:31 AM It just seemed they put that stuff between JJ and Thelma in as a "filler" where they needed to extend some time in between. The second time Thelma said "Oh come on now!! I love it, I love it. liane49 04-28-2013, 03:00 PM I loved 'em. Yes, some were stale, but like Florida said in the ep "The Houseguest", "That's just brotherly and sisterly love". :) They may have thrown in salts at each other but they were were always there for each other when they needed it most, like when Thelma and her freind were going to the prom and the friend was doing drugs. JJ was right there to comfort Themla. And when she was getting married and he didn't have a job, that didn't stop him was trying to pay for her weding. |
