A friend of mine said that My Three Sons actually had lyrics associated to it's theme song! Is this true? Are there any?

TJ, after being a fan of "My Three Sons" since I was a toddler in the 60's and without bragging, consider myself to be fairly knowledgable on the series, I would be very surprised to learn that there was supposed to be lyrics to this famous theme.
I remember reading an interview a while back where, Frank DeVol, the composer said that with the show's foot-stomping animation, extended in the later color seasons, adding lyrics to the catchy tune would have been too much of a distraction to viewers as the Producers wanted people to read the names Fred MacMurray,William Frawley,William Demarest, etc. If it does exist I'd like to see them!

When the show was on Nick-at-Nite, they made up a goofy little song to the My3sons theme. It was cute, I wish I could remember all the words. Something like this: My three sons, yes My three sons, they're my three sons on Nick at Nite. They've got a Dad, he's really tall, and then there's Bub, he makes them food, they've got a dog, they're my three sons!

I remember the Nick @ Nite lyrics. They were hilarious. While there are no official lyrics to the theme- the instruments played were chosen specifically with the actors in mind. DeVol chose sax for MacMurray (due to his musical past), an oboe for Frawley, and the toy piano and harmonica (playing "chopsticks") for the kids. Its a good thing they didn't get real anal with that idea as the show gained more regulars as the years went by. They would have ended up with entire orchestra!=
