I expected to buy the UK Home Improvement dvd's that they would be exactly the same, just with English Subtitles (instead of US closed captions) instead I find the Box turned into a 4 Disc Set.
Is British Technology so poor that they cannot fit 7 episodes to a disc and not cut?

I bought the UK dvd because otherwise I cannot watch HI on anything other than my computer.

I am not sure if this is the same in the US release but the episode selections doesn't have episode titles just numbers and a picture - I guess this is supposed to fill as an special feature, "GUESS THE EPISODE" or they are really pathetic.

I also find unless the episode has an opening teaser scene, they do not include the opening credits (which a few Season 2 don't, as did all of Season 1). Looking at the SO review I doubt this was the same in the US release.

The reason for there being an extra disc is that the Region 2 release has 3 other language audio tracks and about 11 language subtitles. The US version had none of these, hence only needing 3 discs. British technology is just as good as American.

The episode titles aren't included on the DVD menus themselves, but they do give you a leaflet with all the episode numbers and titles on. Hardly "pathetic" - you can still watch all the episodes and find out their names.

I don't know what you're going on about regarding the opening credits. All of the episodes on Seasons 1 and 2 have full 70 second credits, just like the US release.
