View Full Version : Who should play the Joker and Harley Quinn?
SBTB Geek 08-11-2005, 04:12 AM So who do think should play the upcoming villains in the sequel for "Batman Begins"?
HARLEY QUINN:
Brittany Murphy
Rachel McAdams
Scarlett Johansson
THE JOKER:
Paul Bettany
Johnny Depp
Steve Buscemi
joker-crispin glover
and i know shes kinda old but nichole sullivan would be good as harley but not brittany murphy her voice would have me running out of the theatre in a matter of minutes lol
Whoever they choose, I think they are going to be relatively unknown actors.
Brian Damage 08-11-2005, 09:58 AM They agreed to make a sequel already?
Anyhow, Crispin Glover would make an excellent Joker.
Cactus Jack 08-11-2005, 12:58 PM Will Ferrell as The Joker him or Steve Buscemi
Mikado 08-11-2005, 01:17 PM Yup, ill go for Crispen Glover ( Who would be the perfect Darrin if the ever did a REAL Bewitched remake ) , and Jessica Simpson would be the perfect Harley Quinn...she has the looks, body and , like Harley, not a brain in her head  ( Ok, i know Harley had once been brilliant but, thats before she lost her mind )

Yeah, WB is making a sequel no matter what. They are just waiting for Nolan to sign up--- and chances are he will, since he recently said that he wants to get started with pt. 2 already.
Dean Winchester 08-11-2005, 03:29 PM why bring The Joker back? Jack Nicholson made that character his own and there's no way anyone can fill those shoes

Personally, I never thought Nicholsons version was all that great, all he REALLY did was recreate the character he played in the Shining ( And several other films ) , only, while wearing a green wig.
I think Mark Hamill's take on the character ( Batman Adventures ) was much better. Anyway, a new actor will probably bring a new take and youll learn to like it just as much .

you never know, it's been 8 years and I still have yet to accept Clooney as Batman like I did West, Keaton and Kilmer.
Why do I think Jude Law would be a good choice?

No idea, why dont you let us in on it?

I think he would play a great Joker too. ;)

 ?
Is there a problem with my post?
 usually means you have a problem with someone or something.

nono, no problem....just meant it as : "Well, arent you going to tell us why?" in a friendly sort of way , no offense intended :)

No problem.
After seeing Jude Law's bizarre turn in "Road To Perdition," I think he would be a good psychotic Joker.
Mikado 08-11-2005, 07:14 PM ill have to check that out
barwars 08-11-2005, 07:58 PM why bring The Joker back? Jack Nicholson made that character his own and there's no way anyone can fill those shoes
I'm guessing you haven't seen "Batman Begins" yet. Anyways, I have no idea who will be a good Joker, but in my eyes Nicholson did him best.
tylerjjj 08-12-2005, 12:53 AM I agree with barwars. So far, Nicholson has been the best Joker. Mark Hammil has the perfect voice, but I'm not so sure he could pull him off on a live-action film. Crispin Glover would be the perfect Joker.
Brian Damage 08-12-2005, 10:24 AM So wait, are these villians the ones that you'd like to see in the new movie or have these two been chosen to be in the sequel?

At the end of "Batman Begins", they talk about The Joker definitely hinting that he'll be the next villian.

Yup....no mention of Harley Quinn though

Thank you :)
Dean Winchester 08-12-2005, 12:44 PM so I take it that Batman Begins is the start of a new Batman franchise, and not a revival for the 90's franchise?
There have been 100's of villians for Batman, why recycle ones that have already been used in the movies? If Batman Begins was a prequel to the 1989 Batman, why use The Joker considering the Joker became The Joker in the 89 film?
Mikado 08-12-2005, 01:02 PM yes its a new franchise , more closely related to the orig books...so maybe this time theyll tell the TRUE joker story, as they did the origin in Batman Begins, which is fine with me, I thought the 89 movie a travesty* which totally contradicted the books.
* And Micheal Keaton totally miscast
barwars 08-12-2005, 01:28 PM I think Batman, Superman, all superheroes are like mythology, they can be intrepreted and told in different ways and still work very well.
I think the first two Batman films were brilliant, while the second two sucked.
"Batman Begins" was very good, but should have no connection whatsoever to the other four films. The first two movies were good Batman movies, while "Batman Begins" could have worked without the Batman aspect.
LucyCompanyPhan 08-13-2005, 03:51 PM Crispin Glover is the joker.
Harley Quinn? I'd say Maggie Gyllenhaal.
Brian Damage 08-13-2005, 04:07 PM While I liked Tim Burton's "take" on Batman, I didn't like the fact that he killed off the Joker.
Central Perk 08-14-2005, 03:19 PM Harley Quinn? I'd say Maggie Gyllenhaal.
She'd be a great choice. I also think Brittany Murphy or Christina Ricci might be good too.
Mikado 08-17-2005, 02:58 AM On a similar note, I hope THIS movie has a PROPER Batmobile, not this pseudo-tank, video game looking thing ( from Batman Begins )!!!
Chad22 08-22-2005, 06:17 PM Mark Hamill, Definitely. I've Become A Huge fan of Batman The Animated Series lately, And he has the voice down better than any other Joker. I Think he could pull off A Live action Joker well, But thats just me.
Cactus Jack 08-22-2005, 08:17 PM Two worda
RIK MAYALL as The Joker
