I thought she was the perfect girlfriend for D.J. She seemed like the kind of girl that someone like him would probably be with in real life. That's what made the show so great, it always stayed true to real life. I wish there were more shows out there today that were like that.

Kathy Brier from "One Life to Live" is not a bombshell, but a plump, short-haired girl. I was so glad that they did cast her because it shows that all women in the world are not tall, long legged people. Everytime I watch any parts of the show with her in it, I always long for a heavy safe to hit me in the head. She was pretty terrible. As for how she looked, well, I don't want to be too rude but it's one of those cases where you wish you had 2 paper bags, one to go over her head, and one to go over your own head just incase her's was to fall off. And what was up with all those silly facial expressions?...I thought several times she was having somekind of fit.

And I don't care how good "Welcome To The Doll House" was, she was just a bad actress on Roseanne. If I have to use one word to describe her I'd have to go with just plain "annoying"

That is why somebody like Gene Hackman can still get work after so many years while somebody like Andrew Stevens cannot. Andrew got tons of movie roles in the 70's and 80's for his good looks, once he got a certain age, he lost them, and now where is he?, while Gene was never a "handsome leading man" and people still give him offers because he's a good actor.

I totally agree with you!! This whole thread is actually quite discouraging. I never fully realized how people today were this obsessed over the way a person looks. As far as I'm concerned, putting someone down because of the way they look, is no better than racism. In both cases, you're putting someone down over something they have absolutely no control over. I agree with Brad..who says that you have to be Drop Dead Gorgeous to be in the entertainment business. I have seen a lot of average looking actors and actresses that made it very big...Beauty is not everything and besides that Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder!!!! I am sure there are plenty of people that think that Heather is attractive.

oh come on now. Roseanne's show was good in showing characters that gave realism. I for one am glad they didn't pick the typical model, beautiful, actresses or actors. The actress at that time is very pretty. But she was "toned down" if you know what I mean so she could look very simple. It wouldn't have been good to have her all dolled up.

EXACTLY!!!!! YOU SAID IT. The actress is cute as a teenager. I had seen her in some magazines and she looked amazing. Of course now, she is an adult and she is beautiful.

Well, I don't. And just to be clear, if you read back I did not say she was a bad actress - period. I said she was bad on Roseanne. And I still think so after seeing Season 9 a number of times. She was terrible. But as you pointed out it's my opinion.

Couldn't care less about her face. This is *Roseanne* we are talking about -- since when were Roseanne Barr, John Goodman, Sara Gilbert, etc. the beautiful people?

That was kind of the point of the show, at least to begin with.

But the girlfriend was a horrid actress. Anything involving her with DJ was awful, and is another reason why the final season sucked, so badly.

Wait. Roseanne is a very beautiful woman, John Goodman is handsome, Sara Gilbert is gorgeous, Lecy Goranson and Sarah Chalke are both gorgeous, and personally I think Michael's handsome and Laurie is beautiful too. Look, it doesn't matter really what people look like on the outside, it's whats on the inside, and you all know that. I think we should end this thread right now because, we shouldn't be judging people by what they look like. It's human nature to do that but we should try not to. Yes John Goodman was Overweight, Yes Roseanne was Overweight, Yes Sara Gilbert wasn't Cute, Lecy was Ok looking, and the guy who played DJ was ok looking. But I'm sorry, none of them was UGLY in the face like the girl who played DJ girlfriend. She was a full blown Coyote and very hard on the eyes.

I don't want to debate with you. I just believe in the "not judging a book by it's cover" thing. I personally think she is a very versitile actress. Which is cool. I just want to end the conversation about how she looks, and more about her acting skills. I apoligize if I offended you in any sort of way. But, I was kind of offended by your comments a little. The writing for the show wasn't the best in the last season. So I think that played a part in why some people thought she didn't do so well as an actress. It still wasn't all her falt. But, yeah she could of played up on her part as DJ's girlfriend a little better.
