hi, how many different mrs. ziffields were there? was it ever explained on the show when different actress played mrs. ziffield? why was there at least 2 mrs ziffields? if you know the answer to any of these, let us know. thanks

Hello dere! :wave: There were two different Mrs. Ziffels on the show. It was never explained on the show, but it was because the first Mrs. Ziffel, Barbara Pepper, passed away July 18, 1969. I'm assuming that the writers didn't want her to just disappear altogether, so they replaced her with Fran Ryan.
