View Full Version : Voodoo
Bonsai 08-09-2005, 11:34 PM In Voodoo, at the end of the episode the Skipper tells the Professor that he had been a zombie "for the past 24 hours." However, there was the day that he became a zombie, followed by the night where Mrs. Howell tries to talk to him, followed by the day where Gilligan tries to feed him halibut and kumquat sauce, followed by the night where Ginger dances for him, followed by the day that he was eventually un-zombied (de-zombied? ex-zombied?). That's about 48 hours. :)

Ahh. But technically he had been a zombie for the past 24 hours...and an odd number of hours before that. ;)
gilligan fanatic 08-10-2005, 09:46 AM When Ginger and Mary Ann come try to un zombied Russell Johnson blinks a few times in a row. I wonder why they kept that in because it is real noticeable
caladon 08-10-2005, 01:14 PM A couple of things in the "Voodoo" episode that caught my attention. Since the witch doctor apparently needed personal items in order to place a hex, how is it that he was able to keep Mary Ann and Ginger stuck together before he is seen picking up their items? Also, why did he create voodoo dolls of the Howells wearing their safari outfits, when they were not seen wearing them before they went into the cave?
As for the Professor blinking while being a zombie: I don't see the problem with him blinking at all. After all he was still breathing, so why wouldn't he be able to blink. He was just in a trance, similar to being under hypnosis.

I guess thats true about him being able to blink

How about Ginger and Mary Ann actually got stuck together and the witch doctor thought he'd be nice and pick up their items and help separate the girls.

How about this? There wasn't any definite time suggested between the time the Howells neared the cave and the witch doctor hanging up the replicas.

Can't argue with that. :)

How aboiut this! When GIlligan's making the WEitch Doctor VOODOO doll, her takes notihng FROM the doctor.
caladon 08-13-2005, 04:17 AM Excellent point, and you'll notice that the doll bears a remarkable resemblence to the witch doctor, even though Gilligan has never seen him.
Munsters#1 08-13-2005, 05:08 PM Well all the natives pretty much looked alike. There was no big differance in what they wore.
Rap541 08-13-2005, 08:00 PM Point - yer just not really a zombie unless you are eating sweet human flesh. The Prof did not engage in psychotic cannibalism, therefore not really a zombie, therefore ok to blink :)

True enough, but it looked as though he also had copied the witch doctor's head-dress as well.

Let's try Gilligan's using the pin that the witch doctor used on him. Sweet revenge. :)

he was also a little bigger than some of the skinny natives
callensensei 10-17-2009, 02:09 PM Eddie Little Sky was such a fantastic actor. Despite the fact that he doesn't utter a single word in this episode, he creates such a memorable character in the witch doctor, and one quite different from his stoic warrior, Haruki. I love his gleeful malice as he passes the torch under the dolls' feet, his worry as he frantically tries to hypnotize the Professor (whom he has obviously realized is his greatest threat) and his childish delight at playing with Howell's elastic band. He was also wonderfully fit, and certainly didn't look like Miss Alfalfa in that grass skirt!;)
