I guess because I watch both shows all the time on cable that it's not a MUST BUY for me. I have some NBC eps of Fresh Prince and Some CBS eps of All in the Family from 75

I was going to say if you buy blank tapes (or dvds) and put in the effort to record them, that would almost be equal to buying the dvds.

I'm different though. I'll still want to own it even if I watch the show all the time. Three's Company, for example. I watch it on TV Land almost every night and still the dvds will always be a must buy, evn though I've seen every episode 50 times.

I've had to buy All In The Family on DVD, as here in the UK, it isn't shown on TV. In fact, I don't think it has been on British TV for many years. The quality of them isn't brilliant, but they're better than nothing for me.

I'm not really a fan of recording shows off of TV, and I don't like to figure shows into my schedule unless they're new episodes of current series. I think thats why I like TV-DVDs so much, I can watch them whenever I please, whether its an entire season in a week, or an episode a month.

I used to tape "I Love Lucy" on Nick at Nite back in 1995. It was hard work, because I decided to tape it in the best "SP" setting. So I had like 30 something tapes. I had to be home on time and always have my tape ready. If ever Nick at Nite screwed up with an airing, I'd have to stay up late to tape the second showing of it. Or if there was a black out or something.

Now, I just go to the store and buy an entire season at a time. Even for the syndication versions (which sucks). It's like you're paying for someone else to do the taping for you. However, as a result, I sometimes forget about having certain episodes. Because I buy the set and don't really watch them all right away. Whereas when I taped them, I watched the episodes as I went along.

I don't currently tape any shows, figuring they'll come to DVD. It's odd, because I wouldn't take the time (or tape space) recording "All in the Family" or "Fresh Prince" but I was glad to buy them on DVD.

I like Adam-12, Law & Order, Law & Order:SVU, Law & Order:CI, NYPD Blue and American Dreams, but I'm not sure if I'll buy them on DVD. It's less about money than time. I already have a ton of DVDs I haven't finished watching, along with a bunch of stuff coming out that I really want to get. I'll be going to college in just about a year, and I plan on taking very few, if any, TVDVDs with me.

I've decided to (at least attempt to) limit the TVDVDs I buy, and the first things I'm scratching off my list to-buy are dramas, aside from a select few must-haves.

All In The Family, Three's Company, Bewitched, Gilligan's Island, & Saved By The Bell are all shows I am not sure if I will buy. I would like to get them all, but you've got to stop somewhere. Also I've never seen Saved By The Bell, but I really want to give it a try.

I have heard that once Enterprise and The Animated Series are completed on DVD, Paramount plans to slowly drop the price on the various Trek shows.

If you are in between 13-17, I think you will enjoy saved by the bell. If you are out of High School, I recommend buying Saved By The Bell-The College Years

Saved By The Bell, and all its various incarnations are some of the cheesiest shows ever on television, but if cheesy is your style than they're practically perfect. Not that I have anything against cheesy, I'm like SBTB a lot, but its far from brilliant television.

I agree with that 100%. Even though I like it, I know enough not to consider it anything close to quality television. I realize how stupid it is, but every so often: I like stupid.

You sure you weren't just trying to be subtle in admitting you're cheesy? ;)

I might buy Family Ties if it came out on DVD. I do plan (one of these days) to buy the first season of The Cosby Show and the rest when available. :)
