Have your automobile ever been tampered with? My car has been tampered with 3 times. The back corner window has been shattered, and twice someone unsuccessfully tried to pop my lock. A few days ago, in the complex where I live, a man with a cadillac with nice rims had the rims and tires taken right in the lot. The body was left sitting on top of four bricks! I felt bad for the guy, he had just retired and came back from a trip.

You can't have sh*it in this world without someone messin' with stuff!

That sucks!

I had a car broken into once - they stole something from the back seat and some sunglasses I had in the glove compartment. It wasn't much but you really do feel violated when it happens. Luckily there's never been anything else, other than the dings idiots put in your side doors from opening their doors in parking lots.

Automobile? I didn't think people still called them that.

I have a story a little like that. A friend of my moms used to always keep her car unlocked, and one day her kid was going out to the car and he looked in the window and there was a man asleep in the backseat. My moms friend knew the guy and she thinks that he was drunk or something and just wandered up their driveway

No, fortunately I haven't experienced anything like that. I keep my "automobile" in the garage though so the only time other people have access to it is when it's left in a parking lot...and luckily there's a lot of people around in the parking lot, because I have yet to go to any shady places where I'm there alone :p

A few weeks ago, I went out to my car in the morning and my AC vents were sitting on my driver's seat and my cd player was gone. Stupid bastards. It's just so scary knowing that someone was in your driveway in the middle of the night going through your car.

My very first car...I went out to the HS parking lot and both of my back doors were open ajar and the radio was on. No idea how in the hell that ever happened. It didn't smell like smoke and nothing was missing. *Twilight Zone music*

I've been very lucky. The car I currently own has never been tampered with. Somebody kept stealing gas out of my neighbors tank though so she put a lock on it. My cars gas cap can only be unlocked from the inside of the car so no one can steal the gas. I think that's a great feature to have. I had a car a few years ago where I accidently left the door unlocked and someone tried to steal the radio but the thing was broken anyway so I didn't worry too much about it. With every car I've ever owned I've never had anything on the outside or inside that would draw attention to it. I always kept the original radio, speakers etc. I think that way people are less likely to mess with the car. These kids who invest a lot of money in their cars buying monitors, expensive speakers, radios are asking for trouble imo. It's a shame that you have to constantly worry about someone stealing your stuff but it happens every day unfortunately.

I have never known anyone to steal gas. Must be a professional thief, huh?

i've had cars broken into many times :cuss: and have had stuff stollen like cds and tapes and tools and my BOOTS (!), luckily i havent had my locks peeled yet, but I got tired of replacing windows pretty quick. Even WITH an alarm these jerks will still smash your windows just to quickly grab what they can :mumble:

i went so far as to install my stereo with 16 inch headless thru-bolts that go through holes drilled into the firewall, so it can't be removed without opening the hood and climbing up underneath the engine to remove them....

about a week ago one of our friends had his Geo Tracker stolen, the cops found it the next morning - abandoned on the side of the road with all the doors and windows open. The gearshift was ripped off, there was a mess of condoms, drug paraphenalia (including pipes and a fair amount of crack) all over the front seat and there were two old crackwhores passed out in the back seat. No charges were filed because they said that "the guy" told them that they could use the car.

anyways, I suggest this:

With the price of gas the way it is, I wasn't the least bit surprised when my neighbor told me that gas had been syphoned out of her tank.

Somebody scratched my car's left fender with a key. My brother thinks that one of our neighbors did it because she became jealous after she found out I had a car.

My car was broken into my senior year in HS. The stereo was stolen, but the robbers left some blood samples and fingerprints behind. They were eventually caught.

I remember crossing the street and telling myself "that shattered glass on the pavement is not from my car" over and over again.
