Worst: married with children, Big Brother 4:the X-Factor, ALF....

Worst: All In The Family

I heard Night Court has one of the worst qualities.

rc.uk -- it's like that with a lot of Sony titles that aren't Seinfeld. I have the same issue going on with my Who's the Boss? S1 set.

Night Court doesn't look too bad. Although, compared to Cheers which is only a few years older, it's not that great.

I thought shows like The Partridge Family and Bewitched have transferred quite well.
All in The Family and Married With Children are definetly the worst quality I've got.

AITF Season 1 looks great. The other seasons aren't as nice though.

The Jeffersons Season 3 is another very good looking set, along with both MTM seasons.

Yeah, Seinfeld is absolutely brilliant quality, but All In The Family is absolutely dreadful. I know there's a 20 year age gap between the two shows, and that AITF was recorded on tape (which degrades easier/quicker than film), but they could still have put a bit more effort into it. I suppose the reason they didn't was that they knew AITF would not sell nearly as well as Seinfeld, so it wasn't worth their while re-mastering AITF. It's a shame, though, as AITF is a good show. I really wish they'd release AITF a bit quicker than they are doing. At the moment, they're only releasing one season per year! They've been releasing it since 2002, and we're still only on Season 4! Compare that to Seinfeld...we should have 6 seasons out within a year.

One thing about the M*A*S*H DVDs that, in the words of Peter Griffin, "grinds my gears" is the fact that the picture quality varies - not only from episode to episode, but from scene to scene.

In the earlier seasons, some scenes look absolutely great, while others look washed and scratchy. This might have something to do with the fact that most of the footage hasn't been seen for years due to syndication cuts, but one would think Fox could spend a little more time and care remastering the show. It was, after all, shot on film and not videotape.

Sometimes it adds to the authenticity of a show. I know I loved my Planet of the Apes entire series DVD with the white crackles across the screen and the off colour at times, all added to the nostalgia.

Today, I bought Cheers: Season 1, and I must say that its video quality is absolutely brilliant. That's definitely on my list!

Sony has a habit of doing that. Jeffersons Season 3 has ten episodes apiece on the first two discs but only 4 on disc three. An even 8 episodes per disc would make more sense in addition to not overcrowding the first two discs.

The Moonlighting episodes on dvd look really good, probably as good as when it first aired.

i agree...one second it would be fine, then they cut away and it looks like hell on earth....i noticed its mostly with the stock footage..ie, when the medics rush to the wounded, and when the choppers are landing....

"Cheers" and "Seinfeld" have some of the best that I've seen.

My Boy Meets World Season 1 DVD had very good picture quality, as did my Who's the Boss? DVD

My A-Team DVD picture quality isn't all that good

Night Court doesn't look too bad. Although, compared to Cheers which is only a few years older, it's not that great.

Maybe that's just how it is. TVL's copies from Season One aren't too spectacular either, but further down the season line, they're fine.

Worst- Married... With Children, and Garfield & Friends Vol 1 is very very bad.
