To those who have read my threads in the past i never get into off topics/political views so forth...i stick with talking about tc on these threads.
however today i'm making on acception. Friday marked the passing of Hunter Kelly. I'm sure 95% of you out there have no clue who is was, but in time his name will be sononimus with a cure to krabbe's disease. Hunter, who died friday morning at the age of 8, was Buffalo Bills hall of fame qb Jim Kelly's son. Born with krabbe disease from birth , Hunter was not expected to live past 18 months, however thru advanced research and the gritiness and spirit Hunter gave us 8 years. He was born on his father's birthday feb 14, 1997.
Unfortunately there is no cure for Krabbe's, which is a fatal nervous system disease. However thru the Hunter's Hope foundation great strides have been made , and over 6 million raised to extend lives and even catch the disease realy enough were it can be warded off. I can relate with the Kelly's cause I have an eight yr old daughter my self, who was born with serveral medical issues and illnesses. Luckily by the age of 2 she had overcome all her health issues and is a completely healthy 8 yr old tike today. Please say a pray for Hunter and the Kelly family in these tough times. her's a link on HUNTER--RIP.

I've heard of him. I remember seeing them on Oprah when Hunter was just a little baby. His dad was saying that he slept a lot and hardly ever opened his eyes. I didn't realize he was 8 years old already or that he had died. I'm sure that his passing will raise more awareness about the disease and hopefully there will be a cure soon.

Living 45 mins drive from Buffalo I knew about Jim Kellys little boy. Sad as it was, at least he had a loving family when he needed it the most, so many desperate children have no one. Those of you with children, never forget the hug before bed, someday youll see the results of the love. ( Strange these sentiments coming from me, a childless bachelor )< But then, my father always was somewhat distant from me

I was watching Extreme Makeover: Home Edition tonight and they built a new house for the family of a 17-year-old girl who was diagnosed with Krabbe's about a year ago, and they had Jim Kelly on tonight's program. Very sad. :( At the end, they flashed "In memory of Hunter Kelly, 1997 - 2005" on the screen before the closing credits came up.

It was nice to see that thousands came to the funeral today near orchard park. the kelly's were also supported by serveral other families that had lost children to krabbe's disease. from everyone who was there 2 day its clear that hunter's life and legacy will only help research and awareness of future victims, ultimately finding a cure for krabbe's. godspeed hunter !!!
