Munsters#1 08-08-2005, 11:08 PM That's why the first two pictures are not very bright. The tape I got those from were about 5 years old. gilligan fanatic 08-08-2005, 11:10 PM I know that The Munsters came to Nick at Nite in 1995, but what year did it move to TV Land? I am guessing it was at least 98 or 99 Munsters#1 08-08-2005, 11:15 PM 6 or 7 years ago, yeah. But The Munsters have constantly been running on local networks since the 70's. I remember seeing The Munsters uncut in the 80's. They played the episodes in order of production number, they didn't air them 1, 2, 3, 4, 5... and so on. gilligan fanatic 08-08-2005, 11:22 PM I wish I could have been there for the 1965-1966 season when it was The Munsters and Gilligan back to back. That must have been great to see. I guess CBS put them together because in both of there first seasons they got got the same ranking in the Nielsens Munsters#1 08-08-2005, 11:44 PM That's right, I forgot, they were both 18 at the end of the 1964-1965 season. A few nights ago, I was thinking about all the CBS shows that were cancelled in 1966 and 1967. 1966 - Dick Van Dyke, Mister Ed, The Munsters, Perry Mason 1967 - Gilligan's Island, Gunsmoke And I realised to myself, that in 1966, that left a 2 and a half hour gap in the lign up. I think that if they had not cancelled The Munsters in 1966, and just got rid of 2 hours, that would have left enough room for Gilligan's Island to not be cancelled in 1967. I know, it sounds confusing. But that is my theory about how GI eventually got cancelled. gilligan fanatic 08-09-2005, 09:28 AM actualy Gunsmoke was cancled in 1975. It was going to be at the end of the 1966-1967 season and they renewed Gilligan for season four but the head of CBS' William Paley and his wife loved Gunsmoke so they moved Gunsmoke from Saturday nights at 10 to a new earlier time Mondays at 7:30 which was Gilligans spot. they also cancled a pilot that was going to be on at 8. Gunsmoke ratings went back up and it stayed on Mondays for the rest of its run. What was the Munsters rating for its second season. Munsters#1 08-09-2005, 03:52 PM I believe somewhere in the 30s. gilligan fanatic 08-09-2005, 05:19 PM What is the reason CBS ended the Munsters. I always thought it was ratings but the 30's are not bad at all Munsters#1 08-09-2005, 06:26 PM Two reasons: 1. CBS nor Universal wanted to chip in the extra 10,000 a film to make The Munsters in color. 2. CBS felt that Batman would most likely beat The Munsters in the 1966-1967 season anyway. gilligan fanatic 08-09-2005, 07:03 PM I like the series a lot more than the movie. I wish they would have given it a third season instead of making Munster Go Home. To bad they did not keep it because Batman ratings would go down hill fast its second season. |
