View Full Version : Jessica Simpson"These Boots Are Made For Waking"(ugh)
Howdoulikemenow333 08-05-2005, 02:25 AM Jessica Simpson These Boots Are Made For Walking is a very, very, sad day inmusic history when she singing that song.I am just stunned, that she got to sing it in the movie. Her verson of thesong is hideous,I wacthed it on CMT only parts of it it was awful.Nancy Sirnatra verson is of course way better, IT';S THE ORGINAL.Jessica just stop singing all together, please, please.
Hollow 08-05-2005, 03:11 AM jessica has a great voice, she just uses it so awkwardly and ruins the songs.
in my opinion jessica has one of the worst voices ive ever heard-its just about as bad as mine and no im not tryin to start an argument with any jessica fans but i just cant stand her
Superstar 08-05-2005, 03:33 AM I like Jessica singing the song (I realise I'm the only person who does). This is Jessica's first song where she isn't screaming
Penny Lane 08-05-2005, 10:14 AM Give it a rest Simpson(amateur)!
Here's the REAL deal! :D
MissZero 08-05-2005, 12:03 PM this is the 3rd song she ruined in a year
SBTB Geek 08-05-2005, 02:50 PM I agree with Sarah, Jessica has a nice voice, but she isn't the smartest in choosing material.
BTW, I thought Lil' Kim sang the theme song for "Growing Up Gotti," not Victoria.
Dean Winchester 08-05-2005, 02:54 PM is it me or has Jess really lost her voice? When she first came out, she was being compared to Mariah and Celine, yet on Boots, her vocal performance seems more equipped to a Britney song
MissZero 08-05-2005, 03:16 PM jessica should be giving ashlee lessons not the other way around
musicradio77 08-05-2005, 05:30 PM I like Nancy's version better. It was a great song. As for Jessica Simpson's version, puke:

crystals 08-05-2005, 06:34 PM I like Nancy's version a lot better. Jessica trys, but I don't think her voice is suited for that song. At least, not the way she was singing it. I thought she did a great job of Celine Dion's "I Wanna Love You Forever" though on the "Sweet Kisses" album.
bad_boy 08-05-2005, 11:50 PM I liked nancy's version because shes gooder looking than jessica Simpson.
lol gooder lookin anyway if i had to choose which version id say lil kims version
Karen* 08-06-2005, 12:07 AM I kinda liked the edge that Jessica gave to the song, but I'm gonna have to go with the original.
am i the only one that just thinks she absolutely cant sing? im not tryin to start an argument b/w jessica fans and non jessica ppl but i just want to know if anyone else thinks shes awful

I think she can sing, but she just screams too much.
Zions Mother 08-06-2005, 04:39 AM Jessica cannot sing, bottom line.
It was a disgrace how she and her husband and his non singing :mooner:
butchered America the Beautiful on their musical tribute to the troops.
Ray Charles was rolling in his grave. :(

I agree with you about that. Jessica and Nick can't sing period. And Nick was a member of 98 Degrees where basically he was in the background. And you can also tell that they are trying to become the next Sonny and Cher through their specials on TV. Let's just hope that ABC doesn't give them a weekly variety show.
I think her singing of America The Beautiful ranks about as low as Roseanne screaming The National Anthem at a San Diego Padres game in 1990.
Maybe when the Dukes Of Hazzard movie flops,Jessica will think twice about an acting career because I don't think she will ever become a Meryl Streep. She will be reduced to starring in movies made for DVD.

She has another movie lined up already

Sadly, Dukes most likely won't flop. Estimates for the weekend are 25-30 million. I hope the estimates are wrong.

I'm a Jessica fan and I think she sounds great singing on her albums, but when she sings live...it can be hell on earth. She's horrible in the performance aspect.
Superstar 08-06-2005, 01:34 PM How thrilling.
I know isn't it? :)
Steve M. 08-06-2005, 09:39 PM I hate this song no matter who sings it! :barf:

Performed By Penny Lane;
You keep saying you got something for me
Something you call love but confess
You've been 'a- messin' where you shouldn't have been 'a- messin'
And now someone else is gettin all your best
Well,These boots are made for walkin'
And that's just what they'll do
One of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you......... :music:
Hollow 08-06-2005, 10:47 PM You keep saying you got something for me
Something you call love, but I call sex
You've been kissing when you ought-to-be-a-screwing
And now someone else can kiss your ass
These boots are made for walking
And that's just what they'll do
One of these days these boots
Are gonna walk all over you
You been lying and there ain't no believing
And you keep samin’ when you ought to not bet
You been staying when you ought-to-be-a-leaving
Now whats right is right but you ain't been right yet
These boots are made for walking
And that's just what they'll do
One of these days these boots
Are gonna walk all over you
You've keep dressing ways you shouldn't be dressing
And you keep thinking that you'll never get burned, ha!
I just found me a brand new box spring matress
What you know, bitch, you got a lot to learn
These boots are made for walking
That's just what they'll do
And one of these days these boots
Are stomp walk all over you
Are you ready boots?
Start walking
And you think I'm kidding, don't ya?!

I'm with you.

Guess what, if you can't sing live, you can't sing. Her voice is studio enhanced like many others but she stands at the top of the charts as the most enhanced. She's the product of a world in love with an imaginary Barbie Doll. :(
Zions Mother 08-06-2005, 11:40 PM is it me or has Jess really lost her voice? When she first came out, she was being compared to Mariah and Celine, yet on Boots, her vocal performance seems more equipped to a Britney song
Jessica compared to Mariah and Celine?
Superstar 08-07-2005, 01:13 PM Sadly, Dukes most likely won't flop. Estimates for the weekend are 25-30 million. I hope the estimates are wrong.
The movie is heading to number 1 in the box office :p
Dean Winchester 08-07-2005, 03:14 PM Jessica compared to Mariah and Celine?
well, we're talking 1999, when she was a virginal good girl with a big voice, lol. Now she's basically Britney
KissMyGrits 08-07-2005, 04:00 PM I love the original!! She made a total mess of this song!!
SBTB Geek 08-08-2005, 12:25 AM The movie is heading to number 1 in the box office :p
Didn't it perform better than the estimates as well?... I knew it would.

I'm not really sure, I just saw on a few sites that its number 1.
well im sorry to say but i think nick lacahy can actually sing-hes kinda cute too
Superstar 08-08-2005, 03:18 PM Didn't it perform better than the estimates as well?... I knew it would.
it made $17million at the weekend :)
Dean Winchester 08-08-2005, 03:25 PM it made $17million at the weekend :)
see, this makes no sense....
Bewitched made $20 million opening weekend and people were quick to yell "flop!!!" that Monday, same with Charlie's Angels:Full Throttle, it made $38 million opening weekend and people quickly tagged it a "flop", but yet Dukes makes $17 million and people are impressed? Now I think people get too obsessed with the term "flop" (IMO, anything over $15 million an opening weekend should be considered a hit. I remember back in the early 90's when $9 million was a respectable opening weekend for a huge summer title), but it's funny that Bewitched was labelled a bomb for making more than Dukes, and I'd say Dukes was a more anticipated movie.

Well firstly
Dukes received extremely bad reviews, so for it to make $17 million is pretty good. Bewitched may have been called a flop from its first week because people thought it wouldn't make any money for the studio, the budget for the movie was estimated for $85million, whereas Dukes's budget is about $55 million, so it likely that Dukes will exceed the budget.
¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 08-08-2005, 05:24 PM I like her version, but I dont like the path shes taking. Has anyone seen the video?
And the movie was pretty bad, I saw it Saturday night.
SBTB Geek 08-08-2005, 06:24 PM No, no, no... "Dukes" made $30.6 million.
Screenwriter 08-08-2005, 09:25 PM Let me guess. I haven't seen Dukes yet but is the movie about sex and fart jokes?
Superstar 08-09-2005, 03:43 AM No, no, no... "Dukes" made $30.6 million.
my bad, I read at another site it made 17 million. I see now that you are correct :)
