Any idea why "Roseanne" never had any kind of spinoff? Usually show's capitalize on their popularity. (Personally) I am glad that they never broke up the main cast by having any of them get their own show.

From what I hear, Roseanne, Carsey-Werner, and ABC wanted to give Sara Gilbert a spinoff when Darlene went to college. However, Sara wanted no part in one.

Well I don't think a Darlene spin-off would have lasted anyway. She wasn't all that interesting enough to have her own spin-off. Jackie maybe if she moved out of Lanford & went to another place & made new friends..

I don't think a Jackie spinoff would work either. A huge part of Roseanne's success was the relationship between Roseanne and Jackie. It would be like The Golden Palace when there was no Dorothy, it just didn't work out.

I mean like after the series ended.. it would have been cool to have a Jackie show maybe..

I think they should have done one with the Bowmans after they moved back to Chicago or one Chuck and Anne Marie or even possiblie one with Bonnie and The Duke

I think that the show worked as a whole, but broken apart it wouldn't have worked. The characters really reacted to eachother but if anyone was not there the show would deffinately be missing something. A Darlene spinoff would get old quickly because although shes my favorite character, shes sarcastic and there'd be no becky to primarily make fun of and a Jackie spinoff would get old because she had an inferiority complex and thats why she would always go running back to Roseanne. Although she is one of the best characters on Roseanne, without Roseanne, jackie would just be a mess (in my opinion)
