Im a big Family Guy fan I watch it whenever its on, but I could never figure out this question ive had on my mind, Can the rest of the family hear what Stewie is saying, like do they hear him talk?

I wonder that too... I know Brian & Stewie talk all the time & the family talks with Brian so I guess that they can hear him.I'm not sure but it seemed like there were episodes where Stewie would have a conversation with Peter or Louis but it's hardly ever seen. Most of the time you hear him talking but it seems like no one is listening or they never respond to him.

As far as i can tell, only the dog can understand him. The rest of the family just seems to hear baby babble when Stewie speaks. With some of the names he's called Lois over the years, I think if she could hear him, we would definately know it! :)

Yes, the Griffin family and every other character indeed understand what Stewie says, but considering the fact that he is a 1 year old baby nobody takes what he says seriously.

I always assumed no one could understand his spoken words until one particular episode: The one where Peter builds a bar in his basement. Lois is performing a musical concert, and Stewie rants something like "burn in Hell!"
Lois uses his last spoken word to segway into to her next song; (says "Hell...Hell has fire...")
