Wendy's. McDonald's and Burger King are gross. I never go to Subway or Taco Bell. I used to go to Hardee's a lot when I was little but now they all went out of business in my area.

McDonalds was my choice. The fries are most important to me of the choices.

I've never heard of Hardee's, but I like Subway and Wendy's. (cheap food is a goldmine for a college kid) I don't like the other choices.

No no no. Steak and shake has steakburgers, (hamburger if you prefer) and milkshakes!! hence Steak and Shake. Excellent milkshakes! Food isn't bad either. Big in the Midwest. Especially Indiana area.

Our A&Ws dont HAVE carhops anymore, they are mainly mall stands or McD type restaurants here :crying:

Soft drinks (but the Root Beer is the main one obviously), shakes, fries, burgers, dogs and GREAT onion rings! I'll go just for those alone. They also added "chubby chicken" which is WAY more edible than KFC's

Yep. We've got two A&W's here. One downtown (near me) and another one not too far from the college I go to, uptown.

The one here uses REAL meat and makes their own extremely tasty soda conoctions. You can literally wait in the drivethru for 45 minutes just to get some Big Boy's, because they make them fresh. It's so popular here, they have THREE of those speaker screens with the LED displays on them in the drivethru.

God....I could really go for some Big Boy's about right now. I LOVE their Flying Pizza Burger (cheeseburger w/ pizza sauce instead of ketchup), fries and cinnamon soda. :drool:

There aren't as many of them as there were in the 50's and 60's but if anything, I think the Big Boy's here has only increased in popularity over the years. It's THE best fastfood here in the city. :nod:

I can not believe there actually IS one location in my city!! It's in a part where I don't really visit (the southwest part), so that is why I was quite oblivious over it! D'oh!

Well, I am going to be running some chores and errands on Saturday, so I am thinking about making an extra trip to check out that place!! It sounds really neat!! I'll also report back after checking it out!! :wave:

For the greatest chili burgers, chili fries and chili dogs anywhere it's the Original Tommy's in Southern California. Original Tommy's World Famous Word of Mouth Hamburgers have been a local landmark since 1946 and people seem they can't get enough of the chili. That's how great it is!!

Their chili cheese burritos are quite good. I tried to order one but I was told it was no longer on the menu even though it was on Taco Bell's website. I guess it depends on where you live. Some food items may/may not be available at all locations.

I don't really consider Big Boy's fast food, but I do like it there. Not many around here anymore eitherm however. In fact I can't think of any ever being in my area, but there is one 30 minutes from here. The Big Boys around here were Elias Brothers not Bobs, I'm not sure what they are now, if anything.

They don't ACTUALLY sprinkle cinnamon into it -- I think they use a syrup of some kind. M'mm, good stuff! If they marketed a cinnamon soda, I'd definitely buy it. :)

Tonight i had a burger...100% extra lean ground beef with soya sauce and diced onions mixed in ...with pickles, grilled onions, letuce cheese and a sesame seed kaiser roll, served with fresh celery , baby carrots and nacho chips ( washed down with cold milk ).... it wasnt fast ,but it was good........... I made it myself ;)

Subway. I don't care much for the greasy food in Burger King, MacDonald's, and the other fast food joints. At least Subway is healthier. Yeah, I'm turning into a health nut. :crazy: :p

Ack! I can't believe I spaced out writing my "report."

So anyway.... I went to our only A&W fast food place on Saturday. I took my mom since we were shopping. It was a small place, and it was also joined together with Long John Silver's. I guess I was expecting this place to be a drive-in like Sonic's.

I ordered the, um, number four, I think? Anyway, it was the one with the burger, fries, and rootbeer float. The burger reminded me a bit of a flame-broiled burger from Burger King. I substituted the fries for chili cheese fries (with an extra charge) and bought a separate medium drink. I can't eat a meal with a float or shakes or anything like that. I think of those as desserts. Therefore, I chose the Cherry-Lime Sprite from the fountain and drank it together with my meal. The Sprite flavor is soooo tasty, let me add! Yum! :liplick:

What did I think of the food? Eh, it was your average food. I didn't find anything special to brag about, other than the Cherry-Lime Sprite. Go figure! There is a local hotdog place called "The Doghouse" that I thought had the same type of food as they did at A&W. Well, there's my personal report, but maybe it was just because I needed to order something else more A&W-worthy and original, I guess.

I love a good, old fashioned milkshake - really thick (straw must stand up in it) and chocolately. I remember the days when they would also bring you the stainless steel container it was mixed in because there would always be some leftover. In a restaurant the big treat was one of those, a grilledcheese and fries - with a dill pickle on the side.

Actually now that I think of it, we used to have a place that was similar - Steak & Burger. They went under years ago - seems they all do eventually in Canada - or are sold. Except for McDonalds, Wendys, Burger King - the usual big ones.
