i want to know who sang the song candy on the cosby show i don't remember the epsisode but it was at the end cliff was going to bed and claire put on an album(you remember vinal record albums) with a real bluesy rendition of candy this is driving me crazier than i already was

I think that was the blues song from 1956 "Candy" sung by Big Maybelle

You will probably have better luck finding the song on one of Big Maybelle's compilations. It's the 5th track on the album "Half Heaven, Half Heartache", 1st track of "Blues, Candy & Big Maybelle", and 1st track of "Savoy Blues Legend: Candy!"

"Savoy Blues Legend: Candy!" might be the easiest one to find.


She died in 1972. She was from Jackson, MS which in my opinion is across the street from Memphis, home of the blues.
