I just watched it. It was definitely a disappointment. There were some very funny bits, but overall it fell flat.

View Full Version : "Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story" AKA 08-02-2005, 11:07 PM I just watched it. It was definitely a disappointment. There were some very funny bits, but overall it fell flat. *Miss Randomness* 08-02-2005, 11:13 PM when was it on? AKA 08-02-2005, 11:33 PM It hasn't been on. It's the straight-to-DVD feature that will be released on September 27. *Miss Randomness* 08-03-2005, 03:16 PM Ooh. How did you watch it before it came out? AKA 08-03-2005, 07:03 PM Ooh. How did you watch it before it came out?It was leaked on the "Internets." I'm bad. *Miss Randomness* 08-03-2005, 10:53 PM Oh, LoL. Yes, you are very naughty. :p Cautioren 08-06-2005, 07:14 PM It was leaked on the "Internets." I'm bad. Oh, really, a leak? AKA 08-06-2005, 07:18 PM Please don't read below if you haven't seen the movie yet. The movie had a lot of potential, especially with the future Stewie plot. But the whole thing just seemed like a long, drawn-out episode of the show rather than the special event I was expecting. I just wish they could have done something as spectacular as South Park: Bigger, Longer And Uncut. A lot of the jokes here seemed contrived, and some of them were just blatant excuses to get the characters to drop the f-bomb without censorship. This movie, along with the current season of Family Guy, just doesn't seem as intelligent as the FG of old. Some things I did like: "Vince Vaughn, Susan Sarandon in Two People Who Look Like They Never Sleep" "That really grinds my gears. Where, exactly, in the Bible does it say a man can't fire off some knuckle children in the privacy of his own neighbor's living room while his neighbor's at work because I don't have a DVD player? Well, I don't know where it says it, because the Bible is way too long to read." Stewie drunkenly singing the theme to the MASH movie. Peter Griffin as Dan Conner. The Bugs Bunny-Elmer Fudd sequence. The TiVo gag. Wilford Brimley. TJL 09-27-2005, 02:52 PM I picked up my copy of "Stewie Griffin - The Untold Story" today, and I loved it. Lots of laugh out loud moments. Very funny stuff. Ireneparalegal 09-27-2005, 02:59 PM STEWIE: When the world is mine, your death shall be quick and painless!!!! Number 9 Dream 09-27-2005, 10:21 PM I actually liked it a lot and thought it was very funny. The scene with Quagmire and Cleveland in the retirement home had me  ( I won't give anything away ) ;) An 80s Guy 10-02-2005, 03:28 PM im probably gonna buy it JoshFromKC 10-03-2005, 11:57 AM I think a lot of people are bashing it because they compare it automatically to South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut. When Trey Parker and Matt Stone made SPBLU, they were setting out to make a movie. This, however, is three seperate episodes that were supposed to air in order but instead were put on dvd for 1)MONEY and 2)So they could do a few things they can't on TV. Seth has even said in interviews that FOX knows the DVDs of The Family Guy is why the show is so popular, so why not cash in on the success? Wings#1ShowPeriod 10-11-2005, 06:19 PM I liked the movie, alot of funny momments. The part I like was when Brian was telling Stewie not to drink, and Stewie said relax it wasn't the worst thing I'v done. Then Stewie was sitting next to Steve Bartman at the Cubs game, Stewie tells him to get the ball. Steve was all I don't know, and then Stewie says relax its a foul ball.. then Steve gets the foul ball. that part just had me cracking up. Especially as a baseball fan, because of the huge story the incident was. mcfara 10-19-2005, 08:39 PM I liked the movie, alot of funny momments. I didn't think the movie was necessarily the most brilliant thing I've ever seen, but I enjoyed it, and it was entertaining. |
