McCartney admits to bad songs and hair dye
Jul. 30, 2005 at 5:45PM

British rock superstar Paul McCartney says looking back at some of the songs he wrote over the years: "I can't believe what I was on."
The former Beatle even goes as far is labeling some of them "rubbish" in an upcoming interview in Q magazine, the Mirror reported Saturday.
McCartney, 63, also says he is trying to come to terms with growing older.
However, he said, his recent experiments with hair dye had nothing to do with his younger wife, Heather Mills.
"Ten years before I met her I was thinking about dyeing my hair," he said.
"I tried it in Australia ... looked cool until I went on stage. Then this blue liquid poured down my forehead. Highly embarrassing."
McCartney's next album, "Chaos and Creation in the Back Yard," is due out in September.

Thanks for the post!

I absolutley love the fact that as an artist, Paul can say that not everything he has done musically was great. That's why he is the legend that he is.

I love the fact that Paul can be honest about himself and the mistakes he may have made in the past ("Plastic Surgery? I've never had that done!" Sound familiar?) Dyeing ones' hair isn't bad. I'm glad he's embracing his age :)

Hey Paul - with the money you have, forget that Just For Men crap - it DOES run!! Have your hair coloured properly like women do!

And I think he's allowed a few "stinker" songs considering all that he's written.

Gotta love Sir Paul!! :happyface

They play "Silly Love Songs" all the time on the muzac at my work. Sometimes more than once a day. Very vomit-inducing, that song.

My least favorite McCartney solo song is "The Other Me." How can you say anything good about a song that starts off with a line like, "I know I was a crazy fool / For treating you the way I did / But something took a hold of me / And I acted like a dustbin lid??"
