In her first interview since splitting with Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston sets straight those reports that she didn't want children and fesses up about the pain caused by Pitt's relationship with Angelina Jolie.
And she sheds a few tears.

Aniston tells September's Vanity Fair, on stands Friday: "Am I lonely? Yes. Am I upset? Yes. Am I confused? Yes. Do I have my days when I've thrown a little pity party for myself? Absolutely. But I'm also doing really well."

Except when the topic of Jolie and Pitt possibly starting their own family comes up, and tears flow down her cheeks.

But the idea that Aniston, 36, was stalling on starting a family with Pitt, 41, gets the actress fuming. "I've never in my life said I didn't want to have children. I did, and I do, and I will!"

She's forgiving of Pitt, even though they no longer talk, and she says she believes him when he says he did not sleep with Jolie before the marriage broke up in January.

Best friend Courteney Cox chimes in to reveal that while there was no affair, "there was a connection" between Jolie and Pitt, "and he was honest about that with Jen."

Aniston says she expects their divorce to be final this fall, and she's not dismissing the idea of another marriage — with kids — in five years. "I love Brad. ... I will love him for the rest of my life," she says. And she has no regrets. "I really do hope that someday we can be friends again."

Actually, this is exactly how I thought it happened - that there was no true affair, but that Brad did have feelings for Angelina, and I figured he was honest when Jen. Could be their relationship was stalling, and he thought that it would either make them work harder at their relationship, or if it wasn't going to work, would be the straw.

Jen will find love again for sure and I'm sure they just weren't the perfect mates the press made them out to be afterall. It happens.

Sorry, I don't believe him. I think Jenn wants to believe him and needs to believe him. It's too much of a stretch to buy that Pitt didn't have an affair with Jolie, but ended his marriage when the movie wrapped. During filming of the movie, rumors were flying wild over an affair.

There are very few men who will admit to cheating. Unless caught in the act, most will deny it until their dying day.

Everywhere you look these days, Brad and Angelina are pictured together. I think they're a couple but are waiting for his divorce to be final and for the dust to settle to come right out and say it.

I think Jenn is being the bigger person and just trying not to make this a big cat-fight for the tabloids to splash around. I don't think we'll ever know the true story; but despite this, i've still lost any respect i had for Brad.

:lol: I know - I've caught myself with that too - like either really care what we think - not like we're good friends with them.

Funny how as fans, we do tend to get a bit emotionally involved in their lives eh? Imagine people doing that with us. No wonder being a celebrity is weird.

NEW YORK (AP) - In her first interview since splitting with Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston says she was "shocked" by the breakup and is trying to "pick up the pieces in the midst of this media circus."

Aniston broke down twice during the interview for the September issue of Vanity Fair, on newsstands nationally Aug. 9. Mostly, though, the actress comes across as resilient.

"Am I lonely? Yes. Am I upset? Yes. Am I confused? Yes. Do I have my days when I've thrown a little pity party for myself? Absolutely. But I'm also doing really well."

Holed up in her Malibu, Calif., bungalow, the 36-year-old actress says the media coverage and tabloid rumors have been hard to deal with - especially reports that she didn't want to start a family.

"A man divorcing would never be accused of choosing career over children," she says. "I've never in my life said I didn't want children. I did and I do and I will!"

Aniston filed for divorce in March, citing irreconcilable differences after 4 1/2 years of marriage. The couple separated in January.

Aniston says she was aware of Pitt's attraction to Angelina Jolie, his "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" co-star, but doesn't blame their split on her.

"It's just complicated," Aniston says. "There are all these levels of growth - and when you stop growing together, that's when the problems happen."

But when pictures showing Pitt and Jolie together with her 3-year-old son, Maddox, on a beach in Africa were published, the former "Friends" star says, "the world was shocked and I was shocked."

She was also hurt by a fashion spread in W magazine - a concept of Pitt's - that showed the actor and Jolie as a 1960's-style married couple.

"There's a sensitivity chip that's missing," Aniston says of Pitt.

Says Aniston: "I just don't know what happened. ... I feel as if I'm trying to scrounge around and pick up the pieces in the midst of this media circus."

Otherwise refusing to talk badly of Pitt, the actress says she doesn't want to mimic the bitterness of her parents' divorce.

"I love Brad; I really love him. I will love him for the rest of my life," says Aniston. "I don't regret any of it, and I'm not going to beat myself up about it."

"The sad thing, for me, is the way it's been reduced to a Hollywood cliche - or maybe it's just a human cliche."

Another false report, Aniston says, is her relationship with Vince Vaughn, her co-star in the upcoming movie "The Break Up."

"I like a lot of people, but I'm sooo not 'in like' with anybody."

Aniston also hasn't lost her sense of humor. On Pitt's recently dyed blond hair, she says, "Billy Idol called - he wants his look back."

Brad Pitt annoys me for some reason, I think it's his personality. I like Jennifer Anisten, though.

But I agree, I do think Jen is the bigger person.

I really admire Jennifer for the way she's handling it, I've always liked her but now I have alot more respect for her, she doesn't really diss Brad, even though she does say a few things about him. I don't like Brad and I think that him and Angelina were having an affair the whole time. I think Jennifer is just saying she believes him, hoping that this whole thing might blow over.

I agree. Jenn has her pride and no woman wants to have it made public that her husband left her for another woman. And Angelina Jolie, no less.

It's really a connect the dots deal to me. Brad fell in love with his gorgeous co-star, dumped his wife, and is still with the other woman now. The guy's a dog in my opinion.

Jennifer Aniston reveals fury, pain and even sarcasm – as well as forgiveness – in her first interview since her January separation from her husband of 4 1/2 years, Brad Pitt.

In a story titled "Jen Finally Talks! (And talks and talks. And cries. And talks....)" for September's Vanity Fair magazine, the former Friends star declares: "Am I lonely? Yes. Am I upset? Yes. Aniston, who filed for divorce in March, speaks out about erroneous reports claiming she didn't want to start a family with Brad ("I've never in my life said I didn't want to have children. I did, and I do, and I will!") and she gives her reaction to seeing published photos of her estranged husband frolicking with his Mr. & Mrs. Smith costar, Angelina Jolie.

"The world was shocked, and I was shocked," says Aniston, 36. "I'd be a robot if I said I didn't feel moments of anger, of hurt, of embarrassment." As for the shots of Pitt and Jolie playing with her young son Maddox, "I can't say it was one of the highlights of my year," Aniston admits.

Aniston is working with a therapist to deal with the situation, she tells the magazine, which has released advance copies of the issue to media outlets. As for what happened behind the scenes of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Aniston, who says she had bought Brad's claim that he remained faithful to her, now says: "I just don't know what happened. There's a lot I don't understand, a lot I don't know, and probably never will know, really.

"I choose to believe my husband," she goes on to say. "At this point, I wouldn't be surprised by anything, but I would much rather choose to believe him."

This is what I meant in my original post. Jennifer needed and wanted to believe him, almost a defense mechanism. Denial has its advantages to get us through some terrible situations. I think reality is setting in with Jen, and she's starting to read the handwriting on the wall.

Sometimes the closer you are to a situation, the less you see. What is obvious to most others is often lost on someone when they want to believe otherwise...when the truth is too hard to handle.

This is a seven year relationship, a marriage. It's obvious by her statements that Jennifer is in a world of pain now over this.

Good for her for taking the high road though. I think I'd kill Pitt and Jolie. :lol:

Jennifer could very well be extremely generous in her charity giving. Maybe she doesn't scream it from the rooftop. I think she seems very nice. What's not to like about her, unless you're looking for something.

I say Jennifer's better off without Brad, and I have always believed he cheated, and IMO Angelina shares as much of the blame as Brad does.

yea i heard she does give to charities but privately-and she cant go to africa everyday like angelina b/c think about it shes been doing a tv show for the last 10 years and now that thats over shes filming about 6 movies right now but she does dontate to charities and she does not choose to be on the cover of US, People and In-touch magazines

Yeah just because a celebrity doesn't flaunt giving to charity all over the place doesn't mean they don't. I like it when celebrites give in private, cause IMO sometimes news of celebrities giving on the news and things seems to overshadow the charity

Jennifer does do charity work, she has auctioned off alot of her own belongings to charity. And usually Jennifer is on magazines covers because of Brad and Angelina, not because she wants to be. Most of the headlines read "Jennifer hits rock bottom", "Jennifer can't cope without Brad" "Jennifer breaks down" blah blah blah

And yes, Angelina does do alot of charity work too, but she's never been likeable to me, she seems stuck up. Jennifer seems like a nice person to me.

Good Lord, I hope things get better for her soon. She didn't deserve this.

Actually I think with Ocean's Eleven and Twelve, its a case of been there, done him. They had those romantic vacations off the coast of Italy afterall - if you can't find love then, you'll never find it! ;)

Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward have been married since the 50s; although he left his first wife and mother of his three kids for Woodward.

I think the media likes to report on the sleeze factor. A happy marriage doesn't make good headlines. Those couples appear to have happy marriages but I'll wait a few more years to make sure. I always thought Tom and Nicole were happy too. :lol:

I agree - and that's why I was surprised at both Tom and Nicole and Brad and Jen. They really did seem genuinely committed and happy. If anything, I would have believed Sarah Jessica and Matthew would have called it quits first.
