View Full Version : Unsolved Mysteries Episode Trade List justins5256 08-02-2005, 01:24 AM . DarkDante 08-02-2005, 02:35 AM although I have a lot of the segments I already want (there are basically four or five I'm looking for that nobody seems to have) it's good to see you are back to trading. Glad also that you are not SELLING your episodes - thats a really good scene that I wish more traders would get into. Tape trading is really not a "get rich quick" scheme in my opinion Anyhow I've been working on something similar to what you are doing as far as trying to identify what episodes are germain to which Lifetime broadcasts and encourage you to continue working on your list as it is one hundred times more definitive in my mind than the one feature on the episode guide on the section of this site although I'm sure that helped with the dating of the the episodes. I've been trying to figure out also when each segment originally aired as I know Lifetime editted/butchered a lot of the episodes for instance the Doreen Picard segment is featured on LIFETIME but in the wrong special. If you ever want to compare notes: PM me Thanks DD crystaldawn 08-02-2005, 01:21 PM That link won't load up Justin. I no longer have the time or desire to duplicate episodes for cash or blanks and postage. boechsner 02-16-2006, 12:32 AM If you want to trade you can PM me. I'm only looking to trade for other broadcasts. I no longer have the time or desire to duplicate episodes for cash or blanks and postage. Actually, I was just interested in your list. I've been taping segments of Unsolved Mysteries off of Lifetime and have been using your list to match original airdates with each segment. justins5256 02-16-2006, 12:47 AM . asdgr 02-20-2006, 10:23 PM It would be greatly appreciated by everyone if you transfered your tapings to your computer then made a torrent. Then everyone could see these episodes. justins5256 02-20-2006, 11:01 PM It would be greatly appreciated by everyone if you transfered your tapings to your computer then made a torrent. Hmm well considering the source I'm not sure if that was an insult or a compliment but nonetheless thanks sb. ;) kamy 05-24-2007, 04:39 PM although I have a lot of the segments I already want (there are basically four or five I'm looking for that nobody seems to have) it's good to see you are back to trading. If you ever want to compare notes: PM me Thanks DD Well then give them away why don't you, since selling is a crime, apparently. What happens to those who don't have anything to trade but the boxed sets we are all so fond of? I have nothing against paying for a blank tape or dvd to have someone burn/record something on, it's only fair. DarkDante 05-24-2007, 09:37 PM ^ Well I don't sell my episodes as a matter of principal both because I don't feel like having any trouble from the people who actually own the rights to these episodes (and therefore can profit freely from them) and also because I personally don't feel its right for anyone to profit off of someone else's tragedy. I did start a tape tree about two years ago in the "Unsurpassed Mysteries" thread where I shared the bulk of my collection through the process of a tape tree. We have gone through 6 volumes already and are onto Volume 7. These are videotapes not dvds. You might want to contact our forum moderator crystaldawn as she has a huge collection of stuff on dvd and will easily dub you copies for a small fee (usually she charges you only to cover postage and the blank dvds). I think thats the best route to go as stuff moves slow as molasses around here :) justins5256 05-24-2007, 11:03 PM Well then give them away why don't you, since selling is a crime, apparently. You don't have to be crabby about it. I can't help it if I have nothing to trade since I was too young back in the NBC heyday to tape it and realize that one day I would want it. It just sucks that I have nothing to offer and I'm willing to pay for it and it's not an option. My problem, not yours  SP4CE INV4DERZ 05-25-2007, 11:03 AM Well then give them away why don't you, since selling is a crime, apparently. Not to mention the stress of it all, DVDs not finalizing, copy errors left-right-and-center.... Perhaps asking one of them nicely for part of their collections and finding a price that's not considered a profit for the copier and not a waste of their time either would be a start. kamy 05-25-2007, 11:05 AM Some of these people have a huge UM collection and it would be a fulltime job for weeks for them making copies of all there stuff. Understandable, I'm just saying that without anything to trade, I would be willing to pay but since it's not an option I will try another route. :D justins5256 05-25-2007, 11:23 AM Some of these people have a huge UM collection and it would be a fulltime job for weeks for them making copies of all their stuff. You really hit the nail on the head. It's a pain to copy stuff anyway. But knowing that in the end all I'm going to get is a blank dvd and a postage stamp for my time and trouble. I'm not going explain any further, it's really not that big of a deal. I know if it was me, I wouldn't have problems sharing my collection. Do you really have people beating down your door? Awsi Dooger 05-25-2007, 05:05 PM I'll side with kamy on this one, for sake of balance plus I love the tone and choice of words. Nothing more pathetic than apologetic retreat. Actually, it's much more fun to hunt and maneuver. I've never bought or traded any of these tapes or DVDs but my UM collection is very good. There are UM torrents, plus software to take the segments off of YouTube. They download as FLV but you can manipulate them to other codecs via software like ffmpegx or VisualHub. Those are Mac applications but I'm sure PC versions are available. SP4CE INV4DERZ 05-25-2007, 08:12 PM Nothing more pathetic than apologetic retreat. Oh the drama... so what if s/he apologizes, it doesn't always have to be Melrose Place here you know... I stated my opinion and that's that but I'm here to make friends with fellow UM fans, not make enemies.
