I was just wondering if anyone could name some episodes of a TV show where a charachter on the show got intoxicated. I always thought episodes like this were rather funny because it showed that not everyone in sitcom land was PERFECT as some sitcoms over the years have expressed. But here are some charachters I remember being drunk on a TV show.

almost all of the cast of "MASH". I liked seeing Radar, Hot Lips, Col. Blake & Col. potter drunk. They were funny! :lol:

Darrin #1 on Bewitched probably holds the record for getting drunk....unless you count the perpetual drunks like Otis or Barney Gumbel ( Before he went on the wagon )

Micheal from Good Times. He drank some of that "Brite-to" health tonic. 18% alcohol! lol!

...got got drunk in "The New Temperatures Rising" and "The Paul Lynde Show". (But given his reputation, maybe he wasn't acting...?) And then there was another perpetual drunk in Dick Wilson (aka Mr. Whipple) who always seemed to portray "the drunk" in Bewitched and The Paul Lynde Show. Archie Bunker from All In the family! The episode he was trapped in the basement & he drank a whole bottle of liquor while he was down there!! That was funny! He thought he was dying so he got some kind of recorder leaving messages to all of his family members. Then when someone came to get him & they were knocking on the door. It was a black guy. Archie was like, here I am lord, come take me, then when he found out the guy was black... He got down on his knees & was like, "The Jeffersons was right!" Haha!

Will from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air got drunk also when he was trying to get Jackie from that Football player.

Dan from Roseanne got drunk on the episode where he barged in his fathers house & was terrorizing his dad's new family.

Archie got drunk another time on "All in the Family"-this time, it was him & Mike. It was the episode where the 2 of them got locked in the storerom at Archies bar. It was cold, so they opened a bottle and were passing it back and forth. (of course, if that was now, 1 of them-probably Mike-could just take out their cell phone and call someone!)

Lucy Ricardo got drunk once in an episode of "I Love Lucy" that some people consider a classic episode (although I can never see why) :confused:

On the Vicar of Dibley, the vicar Geraldine got drunk, and said mass on Christmas Eve while she was drunk :rofl:

Rebecca was drunk on the Cheers episode "Rebecca Gaines, Rebecca Loses"
when she thought Mr. Gaines was inviting her to his home as her date when he in fact invited her to work in the kitchen.

Edith Bunker got drunk on an episode of "All in the Family" I can't remember the name of that episode, but I think the family had taken her out for her birthday and Edith was sucking instead of sipping the wine.

Mark from Roseanne was drunk at least once. So was Jackie. Roseanne: "Oh look, Aunt Jackie has her hangover glasses on!"

Malcolm from Malcolm in the Middle was drunk on a Thanksgiving episode. He puked into the turkey that Reese spent all day preparing. :-P

Donna was drunk on That '70s Show...and on the season 1 episode where Red got fired from his job, he got drunk at the bar, along with Eric and the other guys. I believe Kitty has been drunk as well.

Dana was drunk on Step by Step

Not necessarily a sitcom, but on Gilmore Girls, Dean once went to Luke's with some buddies while drunk. That was pretty funny...

Lisa Miller got drunk on an episode of "NewsRadio."
So did Mr. James and Dave (during the "Bitch Session" episode).

I think at some point they all did. But the scenes that stick out were Lisa, Jimmy and Dave.

TOW Ross Finds Out... Rachel has too much to drink on a date and then leaves a message on Ross' answering machine about her feelings for him.
TOW Ross and Rachel Take a Break... thinking that Mark is with Rachel and she has told him they needed a break, Ross interprets that as a break up goes out and gets drunk then sleeps with the hot copy girl... ( a mistake to come back and bite him)
TOW Ross Wedding...Monica gets depressed and drunk and then she crawls into bed with Chandler...
TOW in Vegas... two people get hammered and then they get married...
TOW the Videotape... two people get hammered and then they make a baby.

ROSEANNE- On the epp where roseanne's mom had to go to a class to help alcoholics dan, jackie and fred all got drunk in the garage.
Good Times-Keith got drunk in that epp where he slapped thelma.
Who's the boss?- Oh how oculd I forget Tony got drunk on the last epp of the 1st season where him and angela kiss, oh yea angela got drunk too.
Three's Company- The epp where jack, janet and teri were going to move to a house of a doctor that was going on vacition and larry & mr.furley got drunk.

Whos the Boss? - Angela got drunk twice: the season finale of season 1 and a Season 5 episode where Tony and Angela go to a frat party. Also, Sam got drunk once too.


Three's Company - Jack got drunk when trying to talk Larry out of getting married.

OMG, no one mentioned Otis Campbell, the town drunk of Mayberry (The Andy Griffith Show)?

There was, also, another episode in which Archie got drunk...it was one where he was trying to get the truth from Mike about what was happening between him and his student, Linda. Archie and Mike both get drunk and Mike tells Archie that nothing was going on between him and Linda right when Archie falls asleep! (From episode "Gloria Suspects Mike.")

Lisa also got "stoned" as they would say in Green Acres, in episode "Never Go to South America by Bus."

I believe in an episode of "The Waltons" Rev. Matthew Fordwick (played by John Ritter) accidentally gets drunk.

Those are all of the ones that I can think of, besides those that have already been mentioned..

Also in Green acres, when Haney tries to sell Oliver the bar for the cocktail lounge (when Oliver hires the bartender as a farmhand to replace Eb while Eb's on his honeymoon), Oliver has a "Stankwell Fall Fizz" and passes out right away. In the next scene, Lisa is attending to his hangover !

The reverand who married Woody Boyd and Kelly on Cheers.

Ralph Kramden on the Honeymooners when he drank the grape juice.

Mr. Furley gets drunk in the episode where Jack pretends he has a twin brother too.

Tootie gets drunk in the episode "Growing Pains" of The Facts Of Life.

Laverne gets tipsy off of medication in "Bowling for Razzberries" on Laverne & Shirley. A very funny episode! :D

Lucy gets drunk on The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour in the episode where she gets thrown in jail. Lucy gets drunk again on an episode of The Lucy Show when she and the Countess go to a wine-tasting.

In the first episode of Mary Tyler Moore, Lou is drunk when he comes to Mary's apt. to write a letter to his wife. He ends up repeating everything Mary is saying to her boyfriend, LOL. Also, whoever mentioned Karen on Will and Grace is definitely right - it would prob. be easier to list the times she's sober rather than when she's not! ;)

Anytime Harry Morgan as Col Potter was drunk on MASH. When he fell down, and got back up, saying 'Did i fall down' Hawkeye said 'No' and Col Potter replied 'I didnt think so'

The ones I can think of off the top of my head:

Natalie gotten drunk once on a early season ep. of The Facts of Life. Towards the end of that ep., Blair and Jo confronted the guy and tortured him into telling the truth to Natalie.

The Evans' kids' cousin Naomi gotten drunk on a S2 or S3 episode of Good Times, which was one of the handful of episodes where somebody's hiding liquor in their apartment.

Bill, and Hank all have gotten drunk one way or another on King of the Hill. Bill gotten drunk at least twice. One when he thought the U.S. government didn't want him in the army and a second time when he thought his ex-wife LeNoir was coming back to him, only to find out she really wasn't. So later in the ep. Bill gotten so drunk he started dressing in women's clothes. Hank gotten drunk on one of the last episodes of the series minutes before he was supposed to go out and do a speech.

Everyone on That '70s Show gotten drunk one way or another. On the S3 Christmas episode "Hyde Rager," Eric, Fez, Hyde, and Kelso went to a party and Eric came home drunk that Kelso had to carry him home and when Eric got home he said how great the party and made fun of Red by imitating him, only for Red to show up and Eric to hurl on Red's shoes.

Hogan's Heroes (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=71) - There was drinking throughout the series. Once in a diversion, Hogan pretended to be drunk with German officers, ending 'passed out' in Klink's bed.

In one of Hogan's many schemes, Klink pretended to be a hopeless, womanizing, out of control drunk in front on an old girlfriend.

Schultz driving Newkirk to the dentist, went for a beer first, Newkirk kept dumping his drink in Schultz's glass, Newkirk ended up pushing Schultz all the way back to Stalag 13 in a wheelbarrow.
